Gogglebox Australia

Like 10’s weekly triple dose of Bull😂

LOL, Ten’s triple dose of Bull probably needs a Gogglebox review for their Wednesday night ratings to increase a bit!

Anyway, back on topic. The selection of content wasn’t great this week IMO.

Maybe just slot it in between Gogglebox so you get some variety and the the season could be 2 lots of 15 eps

LOL a show full of reality TV people classed as ‘celebrities’. At least on the UK celeb version they have a wide variety of people.

Leigh and Keith were able to join the show this week despite still being in home quarantine.

Not sure if the opening acknowledgement has been mentioned.

Why am I not surprised that we saw The Block, Melbourne Earthquake/Protest news, the AFL Grand Final and Young Talent Time: Unmasked all within the first half of this week’s episode?!

Also, no doubt Dominos would’ve been particularly happy with this scene (in addition to the ads and Sponsor Billboards for them during Ten’s commercial breaks)!

It seems like having the two guys in the photo above and then also having Adam and Symon it’s almost like having the same people on twice .

Because they’re all topical newsworthy and interesting shows or topics which would have been watched by most people this past week?

The selection of shows reviewed this week was very diverse with little reality series featured, no comment about that?

In order of watched:

The Block
The Project
AFL Grand Final
Celebrity Bake Off UK
Young Talent Time: Unmasked
Sexy Beasts
Rick Stein: Venice to Istanbul
Lost For Words
Say Yes To The Dress
The School To End Racism

Very much intentional product placement, in case it wasn’t immediately obvious.

But what happened to the masked singer with Kyle? They had promos for it all week.

Correct, it’s part of the new partnership between Domino’s and Foxtel.

Do you think they will let them watch Squid Games? The UK Goggleboxers watched it but they seem to be more open wit that and nudity compared to us. I feel like it’s too violent for FTA

“Goggleboxers catching up on series through these means is replicating the way we all watch television,” a spokesperson said.

Can’t really argue against Gogglebox reviewing older shows if they’re worthy of being featured, but perhaps it’s time to change that line in the Opener from:

…to something more appropriate, perhaps among the lines of:

Although there’s probably always been a level of older program reviews (didn’t they review a repeat of “Kebab Kings” in 2016?), I think there’s been a gradual shift towards less topical programs.

Whether this is due to new producers/other people behind the scenes having a different view on what the show should be compared to those who were there from the start, I’m not sure. But Gogglebox Australia does have a somewhat different feel these days which can’t entirely be blamed on casting changes IMO!

What was the reason the Delpechitra family can’t be on this season?

Wasnt it lockdown related?

Same reason the Elias family haven’t been on there.

FWIW, I don’t think the absence of either family has adversely affected the show.

I honestly didn’t even notice until you just said it.

On the flipside, will Gogglebox be able to keep Adam & Symon on-board next year even if the Delpechitra’s & Elias’ return?

The one group which has really been giving me the irrits recently has been the Daltons: Some of the comments made by Matt & Holly in particular…I really hope they play that stuff up for the cameras!

Either Adam/Symon or Milo/Nic need to go. They’re the same people!

You’re hoping they’re playing up for the cameras? The whole point of the show is supposed to be about showing natural responses to programs. Once they’re playing it up, it’s time for them to go.
