Meet Gogglebox Australia’s Sweet New Couch Commentators.

The M&M’S® Characters Join The Gogglebox Australia Families.

Australia’s favourite families return to the Gogglebox couch on 10 with a cast of new commentators, the M&M’S characters.

In a global first, major commercial partner M&M’S joins the 14th season of the four-time, TV WEEK Logie and AACTA award winning show Gogglebox Australia , in a truly collaborative and agile way.

Network 10, Mars Wrigley Australia, MediaCom, The&Partnership Worldwide and production company Endemol Shine Australia, have teamed up to bring the iconic M&M’S characters to the Gogglebox Australia couch. Using agile animation technology the M&M’S characters Red and Yellow will react to key moments within the show, keeping the audiences entertained as they laugh alongside our Gogglebox families.

Lisa Squillace, National Sales Director, 10 ViacomCBS said: “We’re excited to partner with M&M’S on this season of Gogglebox Australia on 10, with such an innovative campaign that aligns with the show without being in it. The M&M’S partnership leverages the Gogglebox Australia IP across broadcast, social media and on demand platforms, bringing the fun to every touchpoint for an impactful 360-degree campaign.”

“We love finding daring partners who want to do things differently, and we’ve found that with the Mars Wrigley Australia team. They have thought outside the box (or TV set) with us to create something fun and entertaining for audiences.”

“Spearheaded by Effect Brand Partnerships Manager, Natali Lambevska, we couldn’t be prouder of the collaboration on all fronts with our 10 ViacomCBS Effect and Imagine teams, Mars Wrigley Australia, MediaCom, and The&Partnership Worldwide to deliver this truly unique campaign.”

Ben Hill, Marketing Director, Mars Wrigley Australia, said: “We are incredibly excited about this partnership and the opportunity to welcome our favourite M&M’S characters to the loungerooms of Australia to share their witty opinions, just like the Gogglebox cast.”

“In one of our most creative collaborations to date, the partnership brings the M&M’S brand purpose to life; championing fun as a way to connect with other people through the laughter and joy shared when watching TV together. Plus, we all know enjoying M&M’S whilst watching makes it even better!”

Ayesha Kiely, Content & Partnerships Director, MediaCom Australia, said: “We believe in the power and value of relevance to drive growth for our clients. This fantastic partnership with Gogglebox and M&M’S has the key ingredients of cultural, platform and personal relevance in spades and we could not be more excited to see it come to life!”

Jim Stump, Creative Director, The&Partnership Worldwide: “It’s nice to see the M&M’S gang behind closed doors just hanging out going through the same things we all do when watching TV.”

“To produce it, we teamed up with global production studio, The Mill, the team behind Mill MASCOT, a proprietary agile animation solution that allows us to animate the M&M’S characters individually and in real-time without the need for time consuming and complex rendering or compositing. With the help of this virtual production technology, a live performer brings artistry and expertise to ensure each of our characters’ unique personalities and mannerisms are captured.”

Lots of laughs. It’s good to have them back.

While the entire review of the so-called “cheating scandal” on The Block was spot on, these two reactions were pretty similar to mine (and no doubt many, many others) after hearing about it:

It’s a good thing you provided context for these reactions

Were Adam and Symon only back on Gogglebox because they needed people because the other two families weren’t able to be on?

Or are they wanting to return for good for 2022?

I’d say that’s likely.

Thought last week’s episode was a little flat. Tonight was a return to form. Plenty of LOL moments.

My opportunity to watch it will be tomorrow night, but going by the programs reviewed (via Twitter) I’m not sure if I’ll really enjoy it.

While I suppose it was almost inevitable that the households would review at least one of the myriad of 9/11 specials which ran on the networks last week, this subject has been covered at least once before - maybe about two or three years back.

Then again, there was this…

I don’t yet know the exact context for that particular reaction from Kerry Silbery, but it’s f***ing gold! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Potentially controversial opinion: Gogglebox isn’t skipping a beat without The Delpechitras & The Elias’. Although both families are probably nice enough people in real life, from a TV perspective I probably wouldn’t be all that unhappy if neither returned next year. Meanwhile Adam & Symon have seamlessly slipped back into the show - it’d be great to see both returned on a fulltime basis next year if they feel up to it! :slightly_smiling_face:

Looking forward to when/if they will review the new season RHOM.

I’m a bit annoyed that they haven’t reviewed Wentworth as yet.

Probably in response to the eastern suburbs wanker real estate agents in Luxe Listings. They come in for a bit of a beating from the Goggleboxers tonight.

Leigh and Keith are not taking part in Gogglebox this week having been identified as close contacts. They’re in isolation and have tested negative.

Why would they be filming it in a few days to premiere it in 2022. Normally the show is topical with shows currently airing unless they’re going for generic shows that air all the time. You’d think they’d do this a third season during next year so there’s two normal series and 1 celebrity so there’s 30 weeks of content.

Yeah, regular Gogglebox is a topical show so you’d think the Celebrity version would be too…unless cast availability means it has to be pre-recorded in advance for whatever reason.

Of course I also agree it’d be good if next year saw two seasons of regular Gogglebox + one celebrity version. But with the format already starting to show signs of burnout on-air (what with its obsession with reality TV reviews during the last couple of years), it wouldn’t surprise me if the producers decided to just have one normal season + one celebrity season.

That would be disappointing. Despite the reality show obsession this is one of the best shows on tv. I literally cry with laughter at their responses to any show.

They wouldn’t be able to review any reality shows or news/sport programs. It would have to be streaming, Ten and Foxtel stockpile shows.
