Gogglebox Australia

This show review was particularly memorable because Gogglebox actually reviewed it when it was repeated and made quite an impact on the Goggleboxers. We discussed it in detail here because some people questioned why they reviewed a repeat. The reason was that Gogglebox wasn’t on during its first run and producers thought it was a significant show worth featuring. And they were right.

…which is why during those three weeks both programs went head to head in May/June, LOTS outrated TWL despite the latter receiving considerably more promotion?

As per your most recent post above, a few months after it originally aired.

Don’t know whether they’ll bother reviewing any of Season 2, but I’d certainly be rather interested if they did. Not least since a Twitter follower of mine (who again, it has to be said that I had as a follower for ages before their appearance on TV…) was the on-screen date for a fairly popular LOTS star which the Goggleboxers did see some of during a previous review!

…and is also produced by EndemolShine Australia, not that this should have any influence on what programs are reviewed by Gogglebox of course!

While it’s unlikely anyone’s memory is THAT good, I wouldn’t mind predicting that somewhere on the internet there’s likely to be a comprehensive list of all the content Gogglebox has reviewed during its years on air.

A lot of people have already mentioned how there’s always a Reality show being reviewed every episode but it’s not just Reality – there’s also always a nature/animal documentary and cooking show reviewed every episode too. At least with the Reality shows, the Goggleboxers seem more interested and give better reactions whereas each cooking and nature show is very similar and aren’t very interesting and I think the cast feel the same way.

From having watched every episode and I think movies (e.g. The Invisible Man from from last season) give the best reactions as well as anything shocking/disgusting/disturbing so I’m hoping to see more of these type of programs. It doesn’t have to be every week but I consider a show like Botched to be in that category and it consistently delivers hilarious reactions every time it’s on.

While Adam and Symon are back, the ongoing lockdown in Sydney means the Delpechitra and Elias families will be unavailable to appear in the upcoming season.

The Silbery trio will appear with 93-year-old Emmie and daughter Kerry on the couch while granddaughter Isabelle will join by Zoom.

Matty and Sarah-Marie Fahd will back this season with best friend Jad joining them virtually.

Similarly, nurse Kaday will be in her lounge room with best friend Chantel joining the show via Zoom

That’s going to be not so great.

the weird thing is the Delpechitra and Elias families live together dont they? so was it cost cutting to get adam and simon back?

Yeah, I’m sure that really resonated for GBers in Melbourne and Queensland

We’re Back! Adam and Symon return

Fan favourites Adam and Symon are set to get comfy once again on their couch, as they return to this season of Gogglebox Australia. As ‘originals’ who appeared for the first ten seasons over five years, Adam and Symon return to the four-time TV WEEK Logie and AACTA award winning show **Gogglebox Australia,

Best mates and larrikins, Adam and Symon met on a university pub crawl as students. All these years later, they still share similar interests, with careers as physiotherapists who are die-hard AFL armchair fans with a vast collection of colourful socks. Adam who recently got married and mate Symon are ready once again to get acquainted with the latest and greatest our television screens have to offer.

“We’ve spent so much time on the couch in the last year, we thought it was only natural to come back to Gogglebox!” said Adam and Symon unanimously.

The 14th series sees most of Australia’s favourite households back on the couch ready to share their thoughts, feelings and often hilarious opinions and reactions of what’s on our television screens.

Reflecting the sign of the times and the immediacy of Gogglebox, two of the Gogglebox families residing in Sydney’s hotspots, the Delpechitra and the Elias families, will sadly sit out this season, the first time for the Delpechitra family as one of the original Gogglebox households.

The Silbery family - mother and daughter, Emmie and Kerry will sit on their own couch in their own home for the first time, joined by third generation Isabelle zooming in from their usual couch, for the safety of Gogglebox’s beloved 93-year-old Emmie.

Sarah Marie , Matty and their almost two-year-old son Malik, will zoom in with best mate and ‘uncle’ Jad and frontline worker/nurse Kaday will settle on her couch with best friend Chantel zooming in.

Ready to return to their lounges once again are five of the six original households, including dealers of indigenous art Mick and Di who just celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary, happily married couple and grandparents Lee and Keith , Greek best friends Anastasia and Faye and tight knit family of four The Daltons .

Also returning brother and sister foodies Tim and Leanne and flatmates and surfing mates Milo and Nic.

Brian Walsh, FOXTEL’s Executive Director of Television, said: “I think, more than ever, Australia is ready for a new season of Gogglebox. It’s the one show on television which pulls no punches and tells it like it is. As we all navigate our way through these challenging times, our wonderful Gogglebox households are bound to give us some television moments to remember.

We are especially delighted to welcome back to the couch, Adam and Symon, cameo guests for the upcoming season. They are a fan favourite and are always welcome back to the series.”

Aren’t Adam and Symon similar to those other guys Milo and Nic ? I feel like it’s going to be the same sort of personalities .

No big loss with the Elias family , but the Delpechitra’s it seems it will be .

I guess that means the crew can’t even go into their houses and install a camera at their lounges.

But Matty and Sarah live in Sydney and im pretty sure a hot spot?

Re, the return of Adam & Symon: I wonder if they’re back on the show partly because their post-Gogglebox career didn’t turn out to be the Angie & Yvie-like success they were hoping it’d be?

Rightly or wrongly, commercial TV news bulletins in those states (and of course nationally broadcast ones) thought it’d resonate with their viewers…

TBH, I’m a bit surprised that any of the Sydney-based Goggleboxers will be on screen this season. Would’ve been a good time to trial some new Melbourne or South East QLD-based households!

Maybe they are working from home and not out and about whereas the other households who aren’t appearing are mingling through work? I’m sure we’ll find out properly what the risks are for the decisions made.

If anyone on here is a fan of the UK Gogglebox which is returning soon. I was googling to see when it returned and found out 3 of the stars had died during the break. Peter (the large guy who doesn’t feature as much or maybe at all in the recent series) Mary (the old lady with her friend Marina in the retirement home) and Andy, the dad of the multicultural family who sits in his chair that looks like a throne while the mother knits.

Do Adam & Symon live together again?

I though Kaday & Chantel did too?
