A combined premiere of Ghosts Australia and SBS series Reckless was held at Luna Palace Cinemas in Leederville in Perth last Thursday night (October 30). Both shows were produced by BBC Studios Australia and partly funded by Screenwest.
Believe it was actually held Thursday night, Rove McManus MCâd the event.
Saw the first 2 eps on 10 & it was pretty good. Definitely better than Amazonâs Aussies Office spinoff. 10 should have waited until next week tho. Ratings of 290k & 260k is not good
Was the constant talk about mushrooms on purpose?
It has some good writing and is not so much an exact copy, but you have to wonder what is the point of remaking it into an Australian version. For me, I think the two lead characters are brilliant. However, the ghost characters are less well done. The casting for some is all wrong and not sure why they chose to have those particular accents for some characters. I also think the costume choices are very unappealing and make the show look bland.
Agree that itâs definitely better than the Australian version of The Office but not unexpected that it would also have low ratings in my opinion. It just makes no sense that a remake of a remake would attract a big audience.
The first two episodes will be repeated after The Cheap Seats tonight.
So many questions.
Why does Joon, a Chinese miner from the gold rush era, have a full-on Australian accent and used words like âhey" instead of âhello"?
Why then does Eileen, the Irish matriarch who ran a pub in Australia for many years, have such a strong unaffected Irish accent?
Why does Miranda, the 1900s socialite, sound so English and almost the same as Gideon, the naval officer?
Just so many mistakes made with these characters.
