I saw activity on this thread and thought maybe there was finally an announcement about GB News playout having switched to MediaHub this week, but I guess they haven’t made an announcement.

Hah it’s awful. It’s a breakfast bar and is completely straight so all the eyelines are weird and guests can’t see each other

Also all the cameras are PTZ, they can’t do anything.

Thanks for the tip, and yes, I was referring to the graphics, not to the content itself. Even GMB itself had a more standard presentation (closely related to ITV News and ITV Entertainment), but was clearly influenced by Good Morning America, down to the set.

Speaking of the breakfast bar, it makes a difference how the channel looks now from its first days on the air. The sets looked like a “1960s spaceship” and a “continuity studio” when it launched, not helped by the poor lighting, constant construction noise around the newsroom and the technical gremlins caused by the use of the then-untried cloud NRCS technology Frangopoulos bought for the station from Norway, all caused by the rush to get the station on air.
Two years on, what a difference improvements make (brighter lighting, better camera angles, tweaks on supers…), but still a long way. However, the way they structured the breakfast bar looks just weird as you’d said.

The publishers behind the Sun and MailOnline are looking into allegations that Dan Wootton inappropriately offered colleagues tens of thousands of pounds in return for sexual material.

Wootton delivered a six-minute statement on his GB News show directly addressing the allegations, telling viewers he had been the “target of a smear campaign by nefarious players” and denying any illegal behaviour.

You can’t make this stuff up. Surely not Dan, there aren’t people in the media who create smear campaigns and build careers on such things. Stones and glass houses e.t.c.

GB News has suspended host Laurence Fox after he denigrated a journalist and asked what “self-respecting man” would “climb into bed” with her.
Update: Dan Wootton has also been suspended - his show was where Fox made the comments

Maybe I’ve not read it correctly but that apology has strong “look what you made me do” vibes and then portraying himself as the victim.
“But what I did say was, you know: ‘I wouldn’t shag that,’ and all that sort of stuff, which is not right. It’s demeaning to her, to Ava, so I’m sorry for demeaning you in that way, however angry I am with you still for doing that, and it demeans me because it’s not representative of who I am.”
