Seven recorded its first win of the week on Friday across the five cities winning all markets except Sydney that went to Nine.

Gardening Australia made the top 10 as the top entertainment show ahead of Better Homes and Gardens as news and current affairs again dominated the night. The Project was 10’s only prime-time show to make the top 20.

I’m thinking Seven might want to draw back on The Latest to maybe 30 minutes on Friday and Saturdays. Maybe even weekdays, depending on how much news is coming through on that day.

I just don’t want them to over pad out the show with fill out content. It will only damage the brand and lead to over fatigue.

Last night was 14min

The Latest at 7pm was 14 minutes long last ngiht instead of an hour?

Or you mean the Seven News Special (aka “Late News”) which was in 16th place?

The Project was up last night. But lazy scheduling for Ten for the rest of the night.

The Latest was an hour.

The Seven News special was just 15 minutes last night.

7’a local late 930pm news had 411,000 aggregated across the 5 local editions

That’s pretty good for 9.30pm nowadays

And on a Friday night also.

Will have to wait to see if the 7 News numbers holds up. For some reason, this week Seven have not been updating their EPG to match program over runs so ratings for a show may be adjusted significantly. Given that the news was just for 15 minutes, it’s possible that 10 minutes of the preliminary rating was for Better Homes and Gardens.

On a Friday night where more people have to be home… at the moment you would expect Friday nights to look like every other night.

Maybe not for ratings, etc. But the physical EPG they have been correcting, but only the start times on the run it looks like. I think Nine might’ve started to again as well? Makes sense, they share the same playout facility/systems now.

7mate topped multichannels with Seven’s Footy Vault (classic AFL matches) in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. It trended in the top 5 on Twitter for most of the night.

That’s a very good point @TV.Cynic I agree

On that:

Over the last 4 nights, how has 7’s local 9.30 news done in comparison to other 9.30-10pm programming on 10 and 9?

Thursday for example, 7’s local 930 news was Second in time slot and a notch below mine’s offering - despite nine’s lead in of Covid news special being considerably stronger than sevens Pooch lead in.

And is it skewing older than 7’s 4pm, 6pm and 7pm offerings? Or around the same?

I ask - because Seven’s whole schedule is weak in demos.

I’m looking at Channel 7’s EPG now and it says that World’s Most Shocking Emergency Calls has been running since 10:40pm. Yet actually showing is Seven News which according to the EPG ran from 10:10pm to 10:40pm and it still hasn’t finished. An there has been similar problems all week.

The prelim numbers for Seven local news across the week are highly suspect at the moment. But on Thursday the prelim number put it 3rd in the timeslot in the demos behind 10 then 9. Monday to Wednesday it was nominally on at the same time as Nine’s 1 hour 9pm ish -10pm ish news so was well behind. Monday it was 4th in the demos, Tuesday impossible to say because of PM media conference. Wednesday it was 3rd in demos.

None of that is Surprising. 7’s whole schedule is now 3rd in the demos. It’s the norm now now the exception so I’d expect 930 news to follow that. That said, they are a competitive #3 in demos behind 10.

Yes you’re right last night mine didn’t update, but other nights it did, fickle
