The ultimate footy road trip is officially underway!

From Las Vegas to Bris-Vegas the Fox League team is hitting the highway as Suncorp Stadium gears up for the biggest weekend on the League calendar – NRL’s 2026 Magic Round.

Fox League is bringing the energy, the banter, and the ultimate footy festival directly to Brisbane fans, while at home the only place to watch every game of Magic Round live with no ad-breaks during play is on Fox League, available on Kayo SPORTS.

To celebrate the road trip, FOX SPORTS has released a promo featuring Latrell Mitchell, James Tedesco, Jerome Luai, Pat Carrigan, Tino Fa’asuamaleaui, Kalyn Ponga, Harry Grant, Stephen Crichton, Hudson Young and many more, as they hit the road for NRL Magic Round.

Produced in-house by the FOX SPORTS creative team, the promo also features cameos from Fox League hosts Nathan Hindmarsh, Brian Fletcher, Lara Pitt and Gorden Tallis, and music from ARIA award winning rockers Amyl and the Sniffers.

From Wednesday May 13 to Sunday May 17, 16 teams will converge on the river city for a blockbuster round of non-stop action, with Fox League’s suite of shows and premiere matchday broadcast delivering wall-to-wall coverage, bringing the sights, sounds and atmosphere straight into your living room.

The road trip festivities officially kick off on Wednesday night at a true Brisbane institution. NRL 360 will broadcast live from the legendary Caxton Hotel. Hosts Braith Anasta and Brisbane local Gorden Tallis will talk through the game’s biggest issues, setting the agenda alongside journalists Peter Badel and Brent Read.

When the stadium lights up and the Friday night magic begins, Friday Night Footy will kick off the round exclusively live on Fox League, available on Kayo SPORTS.

A powerhouse panel featuring Braith Anasta, Gorden Tallis, Cooper Cronk, and Kevin Walters will launch the round, while Andrew Voss, Greg Alexander, Shaun Johnson, and Mick Ennis will be on hand to call the opening night play-by-play.

Our elite on-site team including Yvonne Sampson, Lara Pitt, Luke Keary, Cameron Murray and Jake Duke will be stationed at Suncorp Stadium to capture the atmosphere and bring it straight into your living room.

As fans finish up their massive weekend, Fox League will bring it all home. The crew will wrap up the road trip with Sunday Night With Matty Johns, broadcasting live from outside Suncorp Stadium to capture the final cheers of the festival.

Paul ‘Fatty’ Vautin tells all: Spreading ashes at Brookvale, replacing Wally Lewis, The Footy Show

Rugby League legend and TV footy star Paul “Fatty” Vautin has offered the ultimate back catalogue of his career, which saw the freckle-faced kid from Brisbane’s suburbs of Mitchelton transform into one of the game’s greatest luminaries.

Fox League and Kayo Sports will unveil their three-part interview with Vautin and Face-To-Face host Yvonne Sampson on May 26.

It is the first time in Fox League history that they have released a three-part interview, which speaks to Vautin’s extraordinary and colourful career, including captaining Manly to the 1987 premiership, dropping the F-bomb on live TV (on the ABC in 1988) and penning the famous “Queeeeenslander” war cry.

The 30-minute episode premieres on Fox League at 7.30pm AEST on Tuesday, with multiple encores during the night.

I’m almost completely certain that Ray Warren called every State Of Origin during Andrew Voss’ tenure at Nine.

As far as I know it’s always been Warren Smith, who’s unwell which is why Voss has the chance to do it.

I wonder if ever during Origin or Finals did Ray Warren ever had to be replaced like i think in 2004, Rabs did Storm-Bulldogs but Vossy went to Townsville for Cowboys-Broncos.

Not during Finals or Origin either, I think.

I vaguely recall one period where Ray Warren wasn’t available for a few weeks due to health but it wasn’t during Origin or Finals. He also commentated on swimming for Nine as well from sometime in the 00s, so was absent for those, but again only for 1-2 weeks and not during Origin or Finals either.

Not during Origin but i do remember Vossy calling the Broncos-Cowboys semi in 2004 once it was relocated to Townsville. Rabs did the other semi in Syndey. In 2007, Rabs was at the swimming so Alan Thomas called the QLD game (Broncos-Panthers in Penrith?) while Vossy did the NSW game.

I remember one case when Smith was unwell so Jason Costgan who was doing the Warriors filled in on Fox, and Andy Raymond got moved up too.

Fox aren’t showing the Warriors vs Newtown NSW cup game instead opting for Replays and Matt & Volk at the Whitehouse.

Why not show the live content leading into the NRL.

Not the first time it’s happened, they’ve had the option to broadcast live content being produced from Sky in NZ in the form of NSW cup and have opted for replays, mini’s or re runs of shows.
There could be a reason to it but it hasn’t stopped them from showing it in the past.

Is there a reason why Fox dont just take the Sky commentary for Warriors games in NZ? Last nights commentary lacked excitement with 3 of them sitting in a room in Sydney far removed from the atmosphere. The game was exciting but not the commentary.

There are a few reasons.
Sky produce a very Warriors heavy style coverage.

Plus not taking it allows both Fox and Sky to insert their own commercial mentions etc specific to each market

The Daily Telegraph today reported that Eloise Sohier will return to NRL sideline reporting for FOX League in early August at the Penrith v Canberra game following the birth of her first child.
