Fox Sports have signed network stars Matty Johns and Braith Anasta to three-year contracts in the first major move by new owner DAZN to lock down senior talent.
Johns and Anasta agreed to new upgraded deals with Fox Sports boss Steve Crawley that will see them remain at the network until the end of 2028.
Is this the first time they’ve had the Grand Final?
Gonna make things interesting if they lose the NRL rights - DAZN reportedly don’t like the ‘magazine’ programming
Hate to see what they think of Fox League then & FSN.
I reckon DAZN/Foxtel/Kayo will lose out here.
No they’ve shared the GF with 9 from the beginning.
They are going to have to like them in this part of the world, games aren’t played 6 or 7 days a week and they’ll need to feed the content machine.
First time I’ve seen NRLW or NRL on the cricket channel (501). Also on 502 (Fox League) right now too.
I noticed earlier this week Nine’s NRLW coverage was using the Fox wipes but the Nine graphics. Is the NRLW Fox produced this season?
Maybe depends on the game? The Knights v Warriors I posted above has the FOX graphics, probably was Nine produced as they did the men’s game just prior.
The answer is it depends. If the game is part of a double-header with the men, then whoever produces that game will do the women as well. For example, the Tigers-Titans game was a Fox-Exclusive for the men, so they did the womens game, whereas Nine produced the men’s Knights-Warriors game, so they also did the game after. For standalone women’s games, it looks like Nine produces them, for example the Broncos-Roosters game.
This is the first time it’s been back converted I believe since launch!
Sunday Night with Matty Johns aired after the men’s Knights-Warriors game that night on FOX 502.
Looking at the guide for this coming Sunday night at 6pm, the NRLW game (Sharks vs West Tigers) will be on Channel 503.
I wonder if they’ll now start to move away from sports branding a channel and just go back to ‘Fox Sports 1 / 501’ etc?
Would give them more flexibility re scheduling.
Not sure why, but noticed Fox League’s audio and picture was out of sync during half-time. Anyone know if the broadcast is still having issues?
Nathan Hindmarsh on the Sunday Ticket panel all afternoon (to this point anyway) which is quite unusual.
He was on it last week too and Bryan Fletcher was on Thursday night.
I wonder if it’s a DAZN thing to utilise talent more.
