Benji Marshall joins Fox League

Foxtel has today announced that Wests Tigers premiership winner, Benji Marshall, will join the network in 2019.

Marshall will join Foxtel’s only dedicated Rugby League channel, FOX LEAGUE, to be part of the week’s line-up of entertainment and LIVE NRL broadcasts.

Marshall will join Ben Ikin and Paul Kent on NRL 360 every Tuesday night throughout 2019 for Players Night. Marshall will be seen during the year on FOX LEAGUE’s pre and post-game coverage.

Marshall said he can’t wait to join FOX SPORTS: “I’m really excited to be joining the Fox League team in 2019 and can’t wait to saddle up beside some of the best commentators and analysts in the business.

“NRL 360 hosts Ben Ikin and Paul Kent have been known to grill players on Players Nights about anything and everything so I’m going to be on my toes that’s for sure.”

FOX SPORTS Head of Television, Steve Crawley, said: “When we saw that Benji had named his baby son Fox we guessed he was thinking about coming back.

“At Fox League we love Benji. He’s a natural talent and always has something interesting to add, whether it’s on the field or in the studio.

“Unlike most current players he doesn’t mind putting on record what he really thinks and that makes for great TV.”

Marshall is not only one of the most popular players in the NRL, he is also one of the most experienced having played 289 first grade games and 27 Tests for New Zealand.

FOX LEAGUE, on Foxtel, will show every game live in HD, every round with no ad-breaks during play all on a dedicated 24/7 Rugby League channel.

Foxtel will showcase more than 40 NRL games in 4K Ultra HD. The NRL’s 4K Ultra HD revolution kicks off on March 15 as the Knights go head-to-head against the Sharks and then on March 22 with the Raiders taking on the Storm.

Foxtel subscribers can also stream FOX SPORTS’ coverage of the 2019 Telstra Premiership where and when they want using Foxtel Go or via Foxtel’s streaming service Foxtel Now.

Slight adjustment to the scorebar from last year, with the team logos added into the strip. It looks a tad too close to the left of the screen.

New scorebar looks nice.

BUT if it’s going to be a long thin bar like that, I think it would work better down the bottom of the screen

And I WISH they’d make the clock show time elapsed not time remaining! Same deal as last year I know.

So the team logos return to the scorebars / boxes after a few years’ break. Fox Footy should follow suit.

Yes, both Nine and FOX League have nicer looking scorebars than what both FOX Footy and Channel Seven have for AFL.
