Fox League

Looks like the Fox Sports News “LIVE” graphic

Fox using their own callers from the studio on the warriors games takes is utter crap honestly, you don’t hear the crowd and it just doesn’t sound authentic.

Can’t Fox send their callers to NZ, like Nine has done in the past?

I’m sure Mt Smart has limits facilities for media coverage.
I just don’t get why they don’t take the Glen Larmer Call.

Does Fox Sports think Aussie viewers can’t tolerate the Kiwi accent of Glen Larmer and co?

Doesn’t stop ABC from taking the Radio NZ calls.

1x Radio box, I think. Possibly 2 TV boxes as Nine and Sky used to commentate same games.

A few years ago Aussie viewers complained to Fox Sports about the kiwi commentators saying that they didn’t understand the player pronunciation and thought it was bias commentary. So I assume that’s why we don’t get NZ commentators anymore.

Hasn’t stopped ABC from taking the Radio Sport NZ commentary of Warriors matches.

Fox take control of everything they ditched the 9 graphics never used there commentators so im not surprised we don’t get NZ commentators or graphics anymore.

Cordner, Burgess And Alexander Launch Retro Round On Fox League

Sydney Roosters captain Boyd Cordner, South Sydney forward Sam Burgess and NRL legend and FOX LEAGUE commentator Greg Alexander came together today to launch FOX LEAGUE’s Retro Round for 2018.

This year’s Retro Round will remember a golden era of Rugby League, the 90s, with the theme brought to life on FOX LEAGUE, only on Foxtel, throughout the week and across Round 20 in the NRL.

To celebrate, FOX LEAGUE has partnered with the NRL and clubs to give Rugby League fans the chance to attend NRL games at reduced prices this weekend.

For a limited time only, fans will be able to purchase tickets to every game in Round 20 at discounted prices.

Fans can redeem the ticket offer by logging onto Buy Tickets, Official NRL 2024 Game Season | NRL.com and entering the code word ‘retro’ from midnight tonight (Monday 23 July) to midnight tomorrow night (Tuesday 24 July) for Sydney games and Wednesday night (July 25) for Queensland games.

FOX SPORTS’ Head of Television, Steve Crawley said: “Retro Round is a great FOX LEAGUE initiative.

“It’s a terrific week when we celebrate the history of the game with a lot of fun. Our audience love it and we love creating it.”

Across the week FOX LEAGUE’s entertainment shows will celebrate our retro heroes with special guest appearances and will reflect on some of the game’s biggest moments and characters from the 90s.

It all starts on Monday night when 90s premiership winning coach Chris Anderson and inaugural Warriors coach John Monie join the NRL 360 desk for Coaches Night.

The 90s guests continue on Tuesday when four-time premiership winning Broncos centre Steve Renouf joins Gorden Tallis, Justin Hodges and host Hannah Hollis on Queenslanders Only.

The Greatest with Mick Ennis will shine the light on an historic moment in Rugby League on Wednesday, featuring the Warriors debut match against the Broncos from Round 1 of the 1995 season.

Renouf will also feature in commentary for Thursday night’s Super League Grand Final replay between the Broncos and Sharks at Suncorp Stadium, LIVE and ad-break free during play on FOX LEAGUE.

Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy will also provide his expert analysis on the game in Bellamy’s Bunker.

Retro Round wraps up with a special edition of Sunday Night with Matty Johns featuring Manly premiership winners Geoff Toovey and CliffLyons.

Is Graeme Hughes calling again this year?

Not that I’ve heard but he’s hosting Controversy Corner which seems to have been broken out into its own show recently.

The 90’s were all that and a whole lot more, So Retro Round pays Homage to the Decade.

Graeme Hughes is calling the game between Manly V Canterbury this weekend.

That is good news.

I would like to see him call more games on TV.
I always liked his calls on TEN back in the 80s.

Fox League very rarely broadcast their pre and post match coverage from the games, it’s usually done from the studio. However, tonight they are broadcasting from ANZ Stadium. I suspect that they are only doing this so that Nine can’t since Nine started showing Saturday night footy last week.

They did the same thing last year too

Has Andy Raymond been sighted lately, seems like he’s disappeared off the radar a bit?

Not sure if mentioned but Emma Laurence will be finishing up with Fox Sports soon and heading to Channel Ten.
