I think it will come down to how Huddo and Whateley’s radio contracts interact with their Fox Footy contracts as to which one takes precedence.
I would hope that they are calling live on radio being two of the best commentators in the game given Fox won’t be live.
I think Matt Hill would be a good choice for the delayed Fox call, he’s probably the next most notable caller they have and while last year he called for AFL Nation’s regional stations on the radio last year I think he would take the national audience of Fox.
If AFL Nation does a separate regional call again I could see Stephen Quartermain bought in to take his place as he’s done a fair bit of work for AFL Nation/SEN this year.
Fox Footy used to do a live half-time and even post-game show prior to showing the replay until I want to say 2022.
Maybe they’ll go back to that format?

Sarah just mentioned how they have the best team in the business, which is probably true. Dwayne Russell is probably the nation’s best play-by-play commentator at the moment.
That is interesting! I never knew that. Back in those days I probably still thought that Bruce and Sandy were our best callers so I was still getting used to the alternative.
So it looks like Fox Footy will be forced to call the Grand Final (shown on delay) from their South Melbourne Studios, unless Ch 7 allow Fox into the MCG. Which they won’t, reportedly.
