Must have been offered his own show (not sure how good an idea that is given how Warnie went down last time)

They were going so well…

they could move Espn2 to vacant channel 510, Espn to 509 and Put cricket on 508 simple

Fox Cricket are building up quite a formidable line up with all of those commentators announced over the past few weeks. Who else from the current Fox Sports line-up can we expect to see play a part in coverage/magazine shows etc?

Crash Craddock, Tony Squires and Neroli Meadows I’d imagine would be there. Maybe Gerard Whateley? Plus Steve Smith and Ellyse Perry have agreements if I remember correctly?

Stuart Clark, Gavin Robertson, Trent Copeland and Ed Cowan have all been FSN/Bill & Boz regulars so could be around?

And isn’t it sad, how Fox Cricket will still only have an ant sized audience in comparison to Seven.

Just putting into perspective the ridiculousness of CA’s decisions, News Corp + Telstra’s cost and Delany’s smug-ness and aggressiveness with making popular commentators exclusive for 6 years (wonder if there’s an opt-out or annual renegotiation clauses?)

That’s standard operating procedure when it comes to talent being signed for sports rights - their agreements will align with the rights period

If you say so. Fox’s AFL/NRL games stack up pretty well against FTA don’t they?

Well, I’m basing that off how AFL/NRL perform on Fox, as this site publishes (and yes I’m aware they’re indeed national, so we need to subtract lots of viewers from them anyway).

FTA, especially with the AFL where it’s very intrinsic and embedded, continues to trump Fox by a long way.

Fox is never going to top FTA, they’re offering a different service of sorts. Comparing numbers for the two is a fallacy

Yes, no doubt.

But what I find perplexing is how each newly signed talent is ‘gloating/praising’ Fox, when those ex champions should be realising:
A) Viewers have to pay for Fox.
B) Exposure/reach of the game is greatly diminished.

When they’re meant to be the biggest advocates of all!

So it is a shame loyal cricket fans will now miss out on their commentary (good or bad depending I guess) and also definitely T20 Int’ls.

Do you know what a media release is? And you do know they’re being paid by Fox? They’re hardly going to destroy the brand that is paying them?

I’m not going to be a defender of fox, but their NRL and AFL coverage has resulted in a significant shift in how the sports are covered

I’d expect that they’ll attempt to do the same for cricket which will be a good thing for fans

Haven’t subscribed to Foxtel since the first
iteration of Fox Footy, but I can’t help but feel the current coverage isn’t that great whenever I see it at friends or the pub. It’s almost like they’re trying too hard on a meagre budget. The thought of a whole of test cricket doesn’t appeal.

Wonder how the live pass will work? Will there be freebies for Telstra customers?

Fox Sports have announced that Brett Lee and Kerry O’Keeffe are joining the Fox Cricket commentary team this summer.

They’ve grabbed the number 1 fan favourite signing in O’Keeffe for mine, a man who hasn’t done much in TV commentary before but has the ability to brighten up any dull moment! Two tremendous signings!
