Another blow for the Matildas, with goalkeeper Jada Whyman withdrawn from the Women’s Asian Cup squad due to a knee injury.
Iranian women’s team confirmed this afternoon they would take to the field against South Korea tomorrow, despite air strikes by USA and Israel against the country yesterday.

Has happened in the PLC and happens semi regularly in international football when you have mismatches.
Matildas also had a goal in the first half disallowed due to offside.
South Korea defeated Iran 3-0 on the Gold Coast tonight, and topped group A over Australia on goal difference. Provided the Matildas beat Iran on Thursday, Sunday’s match in Sydney will decide whether South Korea or Australia will grab first place in the group and get a better draw in the knockout stages.

Time to learn some new rules.
Wolverhampton had their third win of this Premier League season, beating reigning champions Liverpool 2-1 at home in another major upset. The Wolves’ winning goal came deep in the stoppage time of the second half.
To the surprise of no one, Australia has three points vs. Iran in the Women’s Asian Cup. Not that the opponent wanted to keep playing anyway.
Sunday’s matchup with South Korea will be all to play for.
