Arsenal opens its Premier League title defence with a 3-0 win over newly promoted Coventry City at Emirates Stadium.

Premier League’s second game is an upset as Man United falls to Hull City at MKM.

Of course, that’s what the headlines will say. It’s actually not that surprising, because what is this squad capable of, really?

A lot more if they pulling their fingers out of their backside and put in an effort.

It’s going to be one of those seasons - promising so much but delivering sweet FA.

Fellow promoted side Ipswich Town also had instant success on its return, defeating Sunderland 2-1 at home.

Sydney Olympic is relegated to the NSW (well, Sydney and surrounds) second division. Yet this club is still in the Australian Championship.

Another reason to prove Australian football is screwed.

If you want a proper promotion and relegation system from A-League down…the NPL leagues need to played at the same time as the A-League, NZ integrated with our system, or kick out the Kiwi sides, and get rid of the Australian Championship.

FIFA women’s World Cup draw will be announced on 11 Dec 2026

Proof that Australian football is run by idiots.

first of all…Mario Balotelli to a “2nd division” club? I know he’d be old and busted now, but really? The Australian Championship is not a true 2nd division, and moves like this is desperation.

Secondly - this should have been sorted eons ago. Why haven’t they worked out a independent body that employs and despatches referees to all relevant games by now? Who’s holding it up?

We’re heading to a Crawford Report 2.0 - Electric Boogaloo, but it won’t be as funny.
