THE END

Queensland is getting the News Corp debate.

The format was terrible - every time things got slightly ‘interesting’, Basil popped up to introduce the next question.

Not to mention they stuffed up the timing so badly that Mark had to ask an additional question after the closing statements were made in order to pad until the TOTH

Aside from the fact the debate wasn’t very good, the backdrop quality on the tighter shots also looked absolutely horrendous in HD - especially the bits with Scott Morrison which show why chroma key and glasses don’t mix!

Looking forward to the Sky News Forum on Friday which would be better than this. A debate behind a green studio in Perth failed

Sky News is replaying the debate now (11pm-12am) and it is also on Sky News on WIN:

A few people (mostly residents of Sydney it appears) on Twitter referring to the host of the debate as ‘that bloke’, obviously having no idea who he is.

Caps from the Seven replay in HD:

The Sky News replay dropped the opener and went straight to Basil’s introduction. It also didn’t have the closer where Basil mentions Seven News Perth next / The Latest in the evening, using this graphic to open and close:

Whole thing poorly executed. Do it ANYWHERE but a green screen studio
And maybe get more than 5 rows of audience too…
How lifeless

Everyone are enjoying a sleep in or watch Insiders on Sundays

Not too rusted on if they’re changing votes due to that.

Andrew has suffered a real loss of profile since then.

The technical side of things conspired against that broadcast, hardly his fault.

He hid his views a bit better back in 2007, he is way too obviously partisan to contribute to election coverage in this day and age (same reason you would never see Paul Bongiorno return to 10 for election coverage).

Leigh Sales will have a one-on-one interview with Bill Shorten on 7.30 tonight.

Thanks for the warning.

Sky are more extreme at the moment. All their hosts are frothing at the mouth. It’s really bizarre stuff. Comical really.

7 were going for a point of difference with a lighter election coverage which explained Kochie & Mel hosting as well as Andrew. As a response, 9 added Charles Firth, a Chaser, to their lineup.

For somebody that hates Sky News so much, you seem to watch it so much. I’m sure they’re glad to have your viewership!
