Price rise for taxpayers as Harbour Bridge, tunnel fees rise again
Tolls increased by as much as 14c on Wednesday, in line with inflation, just three days after Transport Minister John Graham refused to say whether the cost of driving over the Harbour Bridge would increase.
Tolls have only gone up under Labor, due to private contracts signed by the Coalition.
Last week, drivers paid $4.41 in peak hour. They now pay $4.55.
Meh, seems like a bargain compared to the Gateway Bridge in Brisbane which charges $6.02 or the Clem Jones M7 tunnel at $6.77

Tolls are a tool of the devil. 
Right, only pay when you get to the other side.
I have family on the bayside so when I fly to Brisbane I always have to use the gateway toll or go through the city and back out which adds quite a bit to the trip unfortunately.
I remember hiring a car from the airport and they tried to charge me tolls that belonged to the person who had the car on the same day I did. I picked up the car at 10pm at night. What you would think would be a clear cut mistake ended up being unnecessarily painful to resolve.

A major Australian distributor car brand collapse could be just the beginning, with a massive dealer boss warning there’s more to come.
“The brands that are really under pressure as a result of the Chinese are the Japanese brands,” he said.
“Brands like Subaru, Mitsubishi and Nissan are under serious pressure because of our market conditions.”
Mr Beitz, who heads one of Queensland’s largest dealership groups and is an authorised dealer for Subaru, Nissan and Mitsubishi, believes the rapid rise of Chinese manufacturers has fundamentally changed Australia’s new car market, leaving many legacy brands struggling to compete on price.

Bit going on at the bolte bridge this morning
Police have swarmed the Bolte Bridge after a man climbed one of its concrete pillars and spray-painted a giant Pam the Bird-style graffiti tag onto it.
The left lane of the Bolte Bridge inbound to Melbourne and the West Gate Freeway remains closed, with speed reduced to 40km/h, according to VicTraffic

The man who climbed on the eastern pillar of the Bolte Bridge has been arrested.

Also was reported that he will stay in until he’s paid for the operation he caused which is interesting and should happen more often.
