Nights With Dave Gleeson on Triple M Nationwide playing Bee Gees “Stayin’ Alive” on the Classic Nine at 9 as tonight’s theme was “Family Affairs” (Bands with family members) one of the bizarre choices Gleeso has picked although there was one time he played Foo Fighters’ Cover of “You Should be Dancing” a few years ago since he stated that “We don’t play the Bee Gees here.”
The Go-Betweens - “Streets of Your Town” on Magic 1278
They do realise the river in the song is the Brisbane and not the Yarra, right?
To be fair, that song would also be played on 4BH in Brisbane (on an hour delay at this time of year), given that they now share the same playlist with Magic 1278 & 2UE.
Thanks- wasn’t sure if they still shared a (f)log or not.
We even have a bridge named the Go Between bridge.
On 2NUR FM Newcastle just about a few minutes ago, I heard two songs with the word “Together” in the title.
Icehouse - We Can Get Together and Promises - Let’s Get Back Together.
Love it! Much more interesting than the usual ‘Two Artists in a Row’. It reminds me of ‘Same Title, Different Song’, which happened occasionally on Max on Foxtel.
Nothing negative about this, but on Seven’s coverage of the WBBL final, just after the trophy presentation they played “High Five” by Sigrid.
By the start of next year the song will be three years old.
At some point in the last twelve months (can’t remember exactly when), I heard “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi on the station.
We are no angels John Farnham 2LT 101.1 FM
Double - Captain of her heart.
Stereo 10 - just now.
Yeah sure, no great surprise in this day and age. But still good to hear. It wasn’t even way past midnight and they still played it, not only for a cruise, not only for a day…
10:48am on smoothfm: “Don’t Start Now” by Dua Lipa
First time I’ve heard this song on the station.
Beat It - Michael Jackson
On Triple M Sydney as part of “Dave Gleesons NYE Party Playlist”.
The regionals are taking this too, which might explain that to a degree, but still….
The surprise is that it probably could have been on earlier….
I have heard Beat It by Michael Jackson on Triple M Sydney a few times on “Nights with Dave Gleeson” and on their countdowns, but the regionals play a majority of MJ’s discography other than beat it.
Forever Young - Youth Group
Heard tonight on ‘Hit Music’ Eagle FM Goulburn. Never knew them to play 80s songs.. was always more 00s to now from what I’ve heard of them in the past.
Radio head this Version of Forever Young by Youth Group was made in 2006-07 definately not 1980’s?
