West Indian legend Carl Hooper will be part of ABC Radio commentary team for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup and the two-test series between Australia and West Indies.
Other expert commentators who will be part of ABC Radio commentary team for the T20 World Cup include: former England players Ravi Bopara, Alex Hartley and Nicky Shaw; Stuart Clark, Ben Cutting and Jason Behrendorff.
Not sure. Henry Moeran and the rest of BBCâs Test Match Special team arrived in Perth a few days ago for the T20 series between Australia and England, and also the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Moeran will lead the call for ABCâs coverage of game 1 in Perth this afternoon alongside Clint Wheeldon.
EDIT:
EDIT 2: it could be a joint ABC/BBC broadcast with the addition of Daniel Norcross.
ABC/BBC commentary team for game 2 and 3 of Australia-England T20 series in Canberra: Andrew Moore, Daniel Norcross, Henry Moeran, Alex Hartley, Stuart Clark (Dirk Nannes for game 3).
Interesting the cricket tonight is not on SEN 1170 yet itâs on SENQ and SEN Vic. The best of Brandy and Voss is on instead. Puzzling decision in my view.
Given TV have the same commentary teams on for double header games it really isnât a shock, even more so with Nannes commentating on the Netherlands whom he played for when they beat England in 2009.
ABC/BBC radio commentary team for todayâs T20 World Cup in Hobart: Daniel Norcross, Henry Moeran, Alex Hartley and former Australian spinner Xavier Doherty.
Brian Lara will be heard on Fox Cricket and Triple M during the Australia-West Indies test series this summer.
Ian Botham and Isabelle Westbury will be part of Triple Mâs commentary team for the Windies tests and the ODI series between Australia and England, right after the T20 World Cup concludes.
It was an all-Aussie commentary team for the T20 World Cup semi-final (NZ v Pakistan) at the SCG tonight for ABC Radio and BBC Radio 5 Live: Andrew Moore, Brett Sprigg, Stuart Clark and Dirk Nannes.
Andrew Moore said at the end of the broadcast that he would call Sundayâs final at the MCG with Corbin Middlemas. He added that he would also commentate the ODI game between Australia and England at the SCG next Saturday with Stuart Clark.
EDIT 10/11: seems to me that for the semi-finals and final of T20 World Cup, BBC Radio 5 Live is doing its own commentary rather than relying on ABCâs commentary team. Although, BBCâs Henry Moeran was ground reporter for the ABCâs coverage of the India-England semi-final at Adelaide Oval tonight.
The ABCâs team for the India-England clash was Clint Wheeldon, Corbin Middlemas, Carl Hooper and Dirk Nannes.
The BBCâs commentary team for the semi-finals
EDIT 2 12/11 The ABCâs commentary team for the England-Pakistand final will be Andrew Moore, Corbin Middlemas, Dirk Nannes, Alex Hartley and Ravi Bopara.
Strange that SENâs commentary isnât on their main stations in Sydney and Brisbane this afternoon donât you think?
Yeah very strange it was for a sports station.
For those interested in the T20 match in radio coverage for first T20 match between India vs NZ, I was looking for âGold Talkâ but its renamed to âToday FMâ in the Rova app. I obviously not reading the NZ radio thread closely . Should be a good contest the match. Wish India could stay a bit longer and play some test matches against NZ.
Yeah, Magic Talk (I presume thatâs what you meant - Gold is the other mob) got relaunched as Today over there a few months back.
As for SEN Sydney/Brisbane, looks like the plan was to only take the second session (and only after Sportsday was finished, ie. 7pm in both states, so not even that in Brisbane) and that seems bizarre to me unless there was something else happening.
The WA stations only took the first session as a Perth Wildcats NBL home game took priority, which⌠well, SEN owns them, so ?
Yes correct my bad, I meant Magic. Who knows with SEN? You make a sports only station and cricket is one of the more popular radios sports and choose not to broadcast the first session.
NSW and Sydney Thunder player Chris Green will join the ABC-BBC commentary team for the second ODI between Australia and England at the SCG this afternoon. The line-up is: Andrew Moore, Brett Sprigg, Henry Moeran, Stuart Clark, Chris Green and Alex Hartley.
