Have I Got News for You is being ported over from the Atlantic in September, hosted by Roy Wood Jr.
Oh, this is going to be bad isnât it.
CNN This Morning has received a new look. Lots of blue and yellow - very GMTV, if any Brits here remember that show? Also a new desk and lots of new camera angles.
EDIT: the video has been taken down. See @WestKnightâs post for another one.
looks extremely dated
There is reason: CNN is trying to reduce the reliance on politics, whilst wooing away the Morning Joe audience from its rival by focusing more on small roundtables for the 6am.
That vidâs not there anymore, so hereâs a supercut:
I agree - how very GMTV2!
CNN This Morning Weekend has adopted to the new branding as well in Studio H.
That bottom right is beautiful- wish Today had something like that
The blue and yellow really makes the studio pop, I think. Looks great. Not so keen on the titles, but I guess you canât have everything
I think this was my favourite CNN look - graphics, music, titles were all on point, and so ahead of its time:
(Video capped and uploaded by our very own @damian!)
Never been bettered (IMO anyway).
The voice of CNN has died.
CNNs morning schedule is a mess. The whole cutting to a sport program mid CNN News Central⌠itâs so disjointed. However I am watching the weekend CNN this Morning and I donât get why they didnât keep the daily version.
CNN has been a mess for a few days with all the things going on. I have a idea they may have cut to CNN US for an extended period and since then the schedule hasnât been the same.
I agree, itâs bloody stupid. Iâm a daily CNN viewer and that drives me up the wall. Incidentally I have access to a couple of CNNI feeds and at least one of them doesnât take the sport show, instead staying with News Central. (I imagine this is down to issues wrt footage?)
100% agree, another bloody stupid decision. Technically it does still exist in some form - they rebranded the early breakfast show to CNN This Morning - but itâs not the same. Itâs all just politics⌠and why are international viewers subjected to it? Itâs dire, and I donât find Kasie Hunt particularly engaging as a host. Not to worry, Iâm sure there will be another reshuffle after the inauguration.
Itâs been like that for years. Theyâll take any opportunity to ditch the international output and instead simulcast CNN US. Hala Gorani even wrote about it in her book - she felt she and the other CNNI staff always played second fiddle to the domestic team. Itâs hard not to disagreeâŚ
I do find it strange the situation room isnât part of the regular schedule on CNNI anymore. Wolf is by far CNNâs most famous host. His hour should be global.
I will be in the minority for this, but i would have no issue if CNNI was dumped and the money poured into one proper CNN channel.
Nah. I agree. Or at least give us two channels. With the option of seeing CNN US if we want. Should be in HD too.
I believe this is because CNNI want to target the Asian market with some sort of breakfast news show (albeit a very bad one!). And rumour has it Wolf is actually retiring after the inauguration anyway.
There isnât a huge difference between the two these days. The morning and prime time output is the same on both channels.
Itâs interesting that theyâve essentially rebadged CNNI for Max (very imaginatively called âCNN Maxâ). I think thatâs why there is still some separation, as the American cable companies would go mad if CNN US were available to stream independently.
Iâd like that. Keep CNNI for international news and give viewers a choice between that and CNN US. Not that it will ever happen⌠I think (sadly) CNNI will indeed eventually be dumped.
On top of all the above the international feed (which I assume is what is via flash) the ad breaks have the worst filler content, I could almost list each break what it is. Itâs very repetitive and has been the same for months.
To be honest the same could be said for the MSNBC one as well, they are still running network promos for Biden and Trump election
