Looks like cbs news is on the fast track to becoming gutter right wing filth. This is part of the totalitarian take over by Trump and his minions. No aspect of American society will be left untouched in the complete dismantling of functioning societal norms. Imagine what is left when he is done with the place.
Earlier, overnight Roundup moved back into the (now Mornings) studio after 4 months, while the network early morning news followed their streaming counterpart in moving into the Evening News set (judging by the similar screens).
The writing’s on the wall when John is leaving, tbh. Wonder if the next anchor will be internal, or if rumors of Bret Baier jumping ship is true…
New show on streamer… CBS News 24/7 Mornings fills the gap left by Mornings Plus from 9 to 11am in Studio 47.
A reminder that they have: CBS News Mornings at 5am on network CBS Morning News at 7 on 24/7 CBS Mornings from 7 to 9 on network
and now CBS News 24/7 Mornings from 9 to 11
Who thought it’s a good idea to have this many similar names in one part of the schedule?
The writing was on the wall once Skydance took over. Their output has already shifted rightwards. I’m sure from Bari Weiss’ perspective Bret Baier would be a very good get. Obviously plenty of recognition from Fox, and just enough credibility because he’s from the news not opinion side. Not sure if it will help them win more eyeballs, but this is partially about improving ratings and mostly about influencing the discourse. With more outlets skewing further to the right, and especially such a big prestigious name like CBS, centrist positions will look more left-wing than before.
Matt Gutman is leaving ABC News for a new post at CBS News, where he will be chief correspondent, reporting across the network as well as lead correspondent for 48 Hours.
Gutman also will contribute to future seasons of 60 Minutes, and will serve as fill-in anchor. He will start in Jan. 5 and will be based in Los Angeles.
Gutman’s hire is one of the first under new editor in chief Bari Weiss, who has been tasked by new owners Paramount-Skydance to overhaul the news division. Puck first reported on his move.
