They only fire up their DR, or NR as TEN terms it, at MHA if required. ---

If you’re talking metro locations, TEN do TX DR fortnightly, & a full studio DR which includes feeds to everyone & from CBS/Paramount in the USA roughly monthly. ---

WhitebaitMedia (formerly Whitebait-TV), the makers of _What Now_ and various other productions (e.g. _The Erin Simpson Show_, _The 4.30 Show_, _The Adam & Eve Show_, _Fanimals_, _Brain Busters_, _The Feed_ and _Darwin + Newts_), had been based in a purpose-built studio and post production facility since 2009. After 15 years the company relocated to a small office space in downtown Christchurch (64 Gloucester Street). Below are the snapshots of the former offices and studios of WhitebaitMedia. I’m going to ask here, because it’s related to a Broadcast Facility & the General TV history thread is locked. We’re (TXA) doing some minor renovations to the Artarmon Transmission site & are going to make a history wall in the reception/waiting/lunch room & we’re looking for some high resolution historical station logos for 7, 9 & 10. I have some, but also have some that aren’t very good quality, we want to be able to print them out & frame them to hang on the wall. The 7 & 9 logos have always been much the same across the country, but TEN had different logos to the other 10 stations until around the mid 1980’s, so we only want early TEN Sydney logo’s, not early 10 logos from Melbourne/Brisbane. If you’ve got any post them here so I can download them, I’ll post a photo here of the wall/s when we’ve finished the works. Thanks guys, all will be much appreciated. ---

That’s ironic being the site was set up by TEN10. Would love to have had a tour of that facility in the day when I lived in Sydney. Did a tour of the Gore Hill site in the early 2000’s when both analogue and digital TV transmitters were active for ABC and SBS and the digital only D44. Plus the ABC Classic/SBS/2JJJ/NOVA FM TX’s. ---

It’s interesting and cool for some reason that the 7 logo is still there. I think I saw the guard rail the news ticker sat in when I was there. I went there start of July 2024. There was a random chair at the main viewing window (When 7 was still there). Was interesting to see it all empty in person. Also got a photo of the newsroom now completely empty. Absolutely! I’m amazed at how they got some of the huge set pieces into the studio (especially the last set they had) with how big they all were and how small (potentially) access to the studio was. Unless they were able to bring it all in, in pieces and then construct it somehow. I thought I remembered the big wooden screen for the soft set was multiple screens patched together to make 1 big seamless screen. ---

IMO at the time that Seven moved their news divisions into Martin Place in 2004, it was seen as a game changer as passers-by could see the 6:00pm bulletin and Sunrise among other programs being produced live. This is/was similar to how New Yorkers could see the _Today_ show and NBC’s news bulletins be produced live from their studios in Rockefeller Plaza. But as the years progressed it became obvious that some passers-by could act idiotically in the background (AFAIK no such major incidents ever occurred, apart from the Lindt cafe siege in 2014); from that I can recall, Sunrise installed some glass in its set that could shield off such behaviour. But who could ever forget those chaotic scenes when Justin Bieber appeared on the show in 2010?
