Is there a reason Brisbane 2032’s Instagram page has a BLUE profile picture now rather than orange like before.
Is there a government related change afoot?

Global architect team revealed for Brisbane’s new $3.8bn Olympic stadium design
The architects behind Perth’s acclaimed Optus Stadium have been chosen to design Brisbane’s $3.8bn Olympic Stadium at Victoria Park for 2032.
The Courier-Mail can reveal the state and federal governments have approved the consortium of principal architects to design the new inner-city stadium ahead for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Two Australian-founded firms, COX and Hassell, will partner with Japan’s Azusa Sekkei to deliver the 63,000-seat project, which has an estimated build cost of $3.8bn.
The architects were behind Perth’s Optus Stadium – on which Brisbane’s new stadium could be modelled – the redeveloped Adelaide Oval and the 2006 MCG redevelopment.
I’m still unsure if these images are of the actual stadium being planned or “concept artwork” of what could be built. either way i’;m happy to see they went with the same architects of perth. perth is a great stadium and we can do alot worse than that one
I think it’s a concept design as the architect has only just been appointed.
Essentially, these are the designs that won the architects the job
The Jungle will be a nice moniker to the new stadium when the Lions play there
Six incredible features that will make our stadium Australia’s best
After the blueprint for Brisbane’s Olympic stadium was unveiled, The Courier-Mail’s uncovered the world-class features which will put it in a league of its own.
Brisbane’s Olympic stadium has been designed to do something few venues in the world can — let fans stroll straight in from the sky.
Fresh concept images reveal a lush, hillside stadium with bridges feeding spectators into multiple levels, picnic-friendly live sites in its shadow and a roof inspired by the wide verandas of classic Queensland homes.

Walking around Brisbane right now, you’d have no idea that the biggest sporting event on the planet is due to arrive in just six years. There are no banners, no countdown clocks, no visible sense of momentum at all. For a city preparing to host the Olympic Games, the absence is striking.
Once the Winter Olympics wrap up in February, the global spotlight will inevitably swing to Los Angeles — and, just as predictably, to whatever comes next. International media crews will descend on Brisbane to produce glossy preview pieces and “future host” segments designed to be slotted neatly into LA Olympic coverage. These are the moments when cities announce themselves to the world, when anticipation is built and narratives are set.
And yet, despite being next in line, Brisbane remains largely invisible — a host city in waiting, but not yet acting like one.
True, but I wouldn’t expect things to really ramp up until around the LA Olympics. Don’t want to peak too soon
. I think there will be a few signs starting to appear in the next 12 - 18 months, but I think it will be fairly low-key until LA
Wait until probably early 2027 and I’d expect a bright blue countdown clock with the year 2032 and then the phrase delivering for QLD ![]()
How far out was the gold coast comm games when they unvailed there count down clock?
1000 days out
Things will ramp up this year when the branding and logo is unveiled. Then due to Olympic rights regulations, a lot of things won’t be seen until LA is finished. Then you will see the rings installed in Brisbane, banners and flags up promoting the games etc.
Yeah - you need to strike the balance too of people not getting Games fatigue too early too.
Apparently breakdancing is attempting to make a comeback in the 2032 Olympics after being excluded from the next games. The WDSF is pushing for this “sport” to be included after an absence in LA 2028
Please no. We do not need another RayGun and be a laughing stock on the world stage with a home Olympics in Australia in 6.5 years time.
