Not sure exactly where to post this, but Bega is shutting down their Strathmerton factory in Victoria in mid-2026, and plans to consolidate operations to Bega in Southern NSW.
The Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA), the leading marketing industry body in Australia, has urged the South Australian Government to reconsider its sweeping ban on food and drink advertising on government assets, set to take effect from 1 July 2025.
If the ban goes ahead, the AANA is calling on the South Australian Government to adopt a science-based approach, such as the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) nutrient profiling scoring criteria, to determine which foods should be restricted.
The current approach lacks scientific backing and could lead to serious unintended consequences for South Australian businesses and a significant loss of advertising revenue for the stateâs public transport network.
Which are being used by the wrong people.
Ozempic and its ilk is supposed to be used by people with diabetes - not fuckwits who are just fat.

âWhoâs deciding whatâs bad for us?â: Dee Madigan rails against junk food ad bans
Advertising expert Dee Madigan used the closing moments of the Outdoor Media Associationâs conference in Sydney on Thursday to rail against the pending ban on junk food advertising.
From July, advertising for junk food will not be permitted on Adelaide public transport, with calls for the Albanese government to enforce a nationwide ban.
She said the proposed bans werenât just inconsistent, but insulting.
âWhatâs the difference between, say a Filet-O-Fish and a Tim Tam?â she asked conference attendees. âWhy can you advertise one and not the other? Arnoldâs employs 4,000 people through the Australia and Asia Pacific region. What would it do to their business if we canât advertise those?
âWhat about orange juice? Itâs got a lot of sugar. You know, even fructose, itâs natural sugar â not particularly good for you. At what point can we stop advertising that?â
Madigan stressed she wasnât talking about direct advertising to children.
âIâm talking about a different thing entirely. Iâm talking about advertising to grown-ups.â
Not when theyâre using drugs off prescription like that.
The barometer data also shows significant shifts in buying behaviour.
Australians are cutting back on big ticket items like cars and overseas holidays, shifting their expenditure and saving more as they continue to grapple with the high cost-of-living.
But they are still spending, redirecting dollars to small indulgences. They want to still have a nice time but spend their money more locally.
HmmmmmâŚEaster beer.
soon all alcohol ads will just be static with the picture of the product and the voice over âDrink this, get pissed, not if youâre under 18.â
Saw this Limited Edition Smithâs Chips Bangers and Mash today. They had these out before in 2023 but they were exclusive to Aldi last time along with other British unspired flavours Prawn Cocktail and Worcestershire Sauce.
