Watched a bit of this last night and saw Izellah Connelly perform. She is one of the lead actors on the 10/Nickolodeon show Rock Island Mysteries.

Seven provided a different top 21 group photo to TV Tonight.

They provided the same two photos to all media but sometimes different outlets might choose a photo. I published both. Just up to the outlet.

Australian Idol Transformation Week is here

Spectacular performances and serious glow-ups

Australian Idol’s unmissable Transformation Week is here!

They walked in as singers, now they’ll transform into Idols. Get set for spectacular performances and serious glow-ups, as singers get a superstar makeover and fight for a spot in the Top 12.

Each night, seven hopefuls will deliver their most critical performance yet, in their final chance to show Australian Idol judges Marcia Hines, Kyle Sandilands and Amy Shark they deserve to be in the Top 12.

Each judge has one fast pass: the chance to fast-track a singer immediately to the Top 12 despite what their fellow judges think.

Who will make it through? Don’t miss Australian Idol’s massive Transformation Week.

Australian Idol Continues 7.00pm Sunday on Seven and 7plus

Transformation Week is expected to attract bigger than usual audiences, presenting an invaluable platform for integrated sponsorships and brands.

Speaking to Mediaweek, Seven Network’s director of content, Majella Hay, said the live and evolving element of the show presents a unique opportunity for advertisers.

“Because we’re truly live in those performance and live shows, we can still keep actually integrating brands right up until then,” she said.

Tonight was the first time I’ve been able to watch an episode. I was shocked that the judges didn’t tell Jaylene to stop that awful thing she does when she’s holding the microphone. It’s a terrible habit and so distracting. She even did it when she was talking to the judges after the performance.

According to my EPG, tonight’s episode was scheduled to finish at 8.40pm. I added two minutes to my PVR recording, and yet the episode went overtime, so I missed Amy’s announcement on the fourth contestant making the top 12.

Edit: I saw Amy’s announcement on 7plus this morning. The episode went about eight minutes beyond the scheduled finish of 8.40pm.

That’s stabdard for free to air television. Always add 15min to the end. I have that as a default on all my recordings.

I’m really surprised that the judges didn’t bring up her ‘trumpet fingers’ (I now know what they’re called). They criticise other contestants but for some reason they’ve let it go. Some people online are defending her saying it helps her ‘keep time’ but in reality she’s spent her life emulating her favourite singers and is just doing what they’re doing.

English singer James Arthur visited John during his rehearsal ahead of tonight’s performance. James was in Australia in February as special guest for Bryan Adams’ national tour.

Amy told John it was not a great performance, but still gave the fast pass to him, sending the former gymnast to the top 12.

He’s not a bad singer

That’s similar to what they did last year right?

I wasn’t sold on him first but he actually can sing without the auto tune but I think he should do more of that like 50-50 split between singing and autotune.

Yes it is similar to last year. Jess also performed in the first top 12 performance episode last year.

Australian Idol Top 12 revealed

Stars set the Idol stage alight

The final night of Transformation Week saw spectacular performances and superstar makeovers as the last four artists finalised their place in Australian Idol’s Top 12.

Over three incredible nights, contestants took to the Idol stage for a make-or-break performance and their final chance to show the judges they deserved a coveted spot in the Top 12.

Judges Marcia Hines, Kyle Sandilands and Amy Shark were allocated one fast pass each, which allowed them to advance someone directly to the Top 12, despite what their fellow judges thought.

Jake Whittaker, 30 from QLD, put a country spin on The Choirboys’ classic Run To Paradise, earning Kyle’s Fast Pass.

Humbled, Jake said: “There are so many deserving people out there tonight. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. This means the world to me.”

After disagreeing with her fellow judges on John Van Beek’s performance of James Arthur’s Impossible, Amy used her fast past to advance the 19-year-old from WA into the Top 12.

Amy admitted: “I don’t think that was your best performance…but I believe in you that much, and I want to give you something to make sure you don’t go anywhere.”

“You are better than that, so come back and show us you are,” she added.

Twenty-one-year-old Victorian William Le Brun was emotional after his signature swing spin on Coldplay’s Something Just Like This earnt Marcia’s Fast Pass.

Bony Onyango, 25, moved one step Closer to his Idol dream, singing Ne-Yo’s signature tune. The QLD singer – who controversially uses live autotune in his performances – wowed the crowd and judges.

Amy shared: “I would like to apologise for calling it cheating. I did think you were coming into the audition to swindle your way through. Now I know this is your artistry, this is your sound, this is who you are. That was incredible.”

Rock-chick Iilyish Retallick from NSW declared: “I want to show Australia a small-town country girl has what it takes to be in the music industry and represent.”

The 17-year-old’s rendition of Just A Girl earned a standing ovation and left the judges No Doubt that she had what it takes to be in the Top 12.

Gisella, 16, transformed from schoolgirl to Idol star singing Michael Bolton’s How Am I Supposed to Live Without You. The WA teen brought Marcia to tears: “I’m sitting here crying. I love that you are here. I love that you are game and so damn talented.”

Hannah Waddell, 25 from WA, took Sneaky Sound System’s track UFO to another stratosphere. Kyle declared: “Tonight, you became a proper artist. It was so effortless. You nailed that with ease. You are ready to go as far as I’m concerned.”
