Hot Tomato off air as of the 8pm hour tonight. No idea if it’s back on yet

Hot Tomato always seem to be off-air in recent months.
It was an issue with the Mt Tamborine tower. Both TV and Radio were out for a short while. This outage was beyond Hot Tomato’s control.

During the 9News simulcast on River949, the report regarding Jackie O suing ARN was quickly interrupted within seconds, and Don’t Lose My Number by Phil Collins was played instead. May have been intentional, may have just been accidental. Interesting nonetheless.

I find it truly bizarre ARN would go to that amount of trouble to censor the story on a news simulcast on one of their stations. Firstly, the story is already going out on TV, radio and print. Secondly, 99% of River 949’s listeners wouldn’t actually have a clue the station is owned by ARN so why bother?
It’s just weird and makes them seem really desperate and sad. The more that comes out about ARN and how it’s managed makes me think the best outcome is a takeover, the sooner the better.

I think i just heard a promo on 2EC saying that they’re doing “Totally 80s” over Easter. But not the “Eggcellent 80s” as they used to be!
Not sure about Gold metros.
Meanwhile, the Hot AC stations (Wave, Power, Hot Tomato, 7HO etc) are doing ‘all 90s’ over Easter, looking at Lava.
It reminds me of when SCA censored Ray Hadley some years back when he was blowing up over something that happened on the Orange Triple M station. Something to do with a local business who advertised on the station from memory.

Apparently with the most recent share tumble ARN’s market cap hit about $70M this week. Some pundits like James Cridland are quoted as saying even if a prospective buyer had to pay out K&J in full (which is unlikely) it’s still a bargain at that price, given the FM assets in the capitals.
Come on Nova - time to end this misery and buy them out, at least to cherry pick 97.3, 102.3 and 96fm. Also Hot Tomato. Sell Gold/KIIS in SYD/MEL and maybe the regional network to Nine.

Why would Nine want regional stations? They just off-loaded two to WIN. Gold and KIIS - maybe.
