I just received all Sydney DAB+ muxes from Tuross Head on my Sangean DPR-45. Distance is around 240 km. Mount Moombil, Middle Brother and 2MC Port also well received.

Port Macquarie coming in to NW Sydney tonight. 92.7 Sky Sports Radio, and Hit 102.3 Port Macquarie. Slght enhancement of Triple J Coffs / Grafton, Middle Brother, Newcastle.
Heading up to Forster for Easter break, will see what the ducting is like while I am up there.

Not really DX, but I suspect 2RES Waverley is off air as I am getting SKY Sports Radio from Lithgow on 89.7.

And I can get weak reception of that new HPON in Sydney inner suburbs on 91.1

I went up to the ‘roof of Australia’ this morning. The 2XL transmissions on 98.5 and 98.9 are spurs from Perisher 98.7. It was even spreading to 98.3 and 99.1 in the Perisher Valley resort precinct. 91.7 and 92.5 Charlotte Pass are currently off air.

Am getting some good group from the South Coast right now

2ST 91.7 in stereo with RDS song info

Power FM Nowra also with RDS and song info coming in over the top of Radio Rhema Gosford.

Pulse 94.1 also being received with station name RDS but not song info over Today’s Country from Gosford

Faint ABCs from Batemans Bay also.

First night in Forster and some good catches from 5th floor of unit block southerly facing. Nationals from Coffs Harbour / Grafton booming in.
All Sydney and Central Coast Fm received except for Coast Fm, due to local Triple J on 96.3.

Sydney DAB 9a and 9C received and with audio, no 9b possibly due to interference from digital tv at Middle Brother.

This is the furthest north I have received Sydney Dab+

Illawarra nationals, i98 and Wave also received.

Some good catches there!

There shouldn’t be any issues with 9B digital.

Middle Brother uses the same VHF RF channels for DTV as Sydney.

I had ABC South East from Mt Wandera on 103.5 at Boambee Headland, Sawtell the other day on the car radio. Quite a strong signal too. 669km, a new record for domestic tropo reception for me.

Interesting ionospheric reception, AM 747 6SE strong last night on the Gold Coast. The sweep of ‘RadioWest is now Triple M’ was clearly audible over 4QS Dalby which by day has a rural grade signal on the Gold Coast (away from RFI of course)

Are they only on air during peak season? How was the view? Love to see a photo, can you post us one?

North Brother has been done too. I suspect the isolated coast points from there south would also work in the right weather. Diamond Head and Crowdy Head.

That’s a good catch re 6SE!

Re North Brother - I didn’t get Sydney DAB the last time I was up there. I don’t deny that could be done however, elevation and distance wouldn’t be an issue, but there’s a lot of trees up there, particularly to the south, so you’d have to be in the right spot for it.

Charlotte Pass is usually on all year round as far as I’m aware. The reception from the end of the Kosciuszko Road isn’t that spectacular as you’re hemmed in by the Main Range. Cabramurra is a much better site as you’re at the NW flank of the Snowies.

There was some excellent tropo to Tasmania this morning from Numeralla. 7HO and MMM were received throughout the morning. I also had 2RRR Ryde last evening up at Countegany on the car radio.

That’s true, Sydney FM is fine up there, digital as we know is a lot more susceptible to trees, multi path distortion I guess?

I had to look that locality up, it’s basically a property that’s been in the one family since the 1850’s.

Drove through Mt Tamborine today. Virtually all stations that have RDS in SE Qld display on the list.

Sunshine Coast, all commercials and the lower powered Salt. Sunshine had no RDS displaying but good quality.

River also.

Dual tuner Audi car radio again demonstrated that at least the four ringed circus of a brand is good for something, its radio: tuned between 100.6 Breeze from Mt Tamb, 100.7 Toowoomba (Mt Kynoch) and 100.9 from Mt Nardi, they all were clear or close to it.

Digital radio also works on a handheld receiver with the antenna at its collapsed length vertical.

That’s a great log!

93.1 is interesting… I wouldn’t have thought it would be Emmaville though, particularly as no other stations from the Armidale or Inverell region is on your list. Can’t think what else…

Wasn’t 96.1 The Edge there?
