I must admit I didn’t mind it when it came out; ‘Too Bad’ and ‘Never Again’ are probably their best tracks. Nickelback definitely got worse and worse as time went on, however they aren’t unique in this respect. Good Charlotte and Matchbox 20/Rob Thomas are in the same category.
Most of the hate for Nickelback derives from the meme sphere; really they are no worse than your average ‘corporate rock’ band. However tracks like ‘Photograph’ definitely belong in the ‘turd’ category.
Oh great, just as I’m at Bingo some e-Skip happens so I cannot just go get the Sony or try to get the TEF working as they are a 15 minutes drive away and I would not have any time to DX because the second half of Bingo is about to start.
Half an hour or so ago I was getting something very weak that sounded like pop/rock music (almost Triple M ish?) on 97.5. Didn’t sound like Classic FM or otherwise.
Seems to be the most likely considering the current conditions.
I’m listening again now on the TEF and there’s definitely some stirring going on. Frequencies going up and down all over the band at a low level. Keep an eye on it as there may be another opening.
Decent Tasmanian tropo right now, getting Chilli FM, city park and way fm in stereo and Launceston ABCs at strong levels as well as King Island and Lileah, now also getting weak chilli 99.7
Getting tropo far and wide this morning on the TEF. Bendigo (all ABCs, Vision Australia, Hit and Triple M) Horsham (ABC News Radio and Mixx FM), Ballarat and Mount Dundas ABCs and Broken Hill (ABCs and Sky Sports Radio) are all about. 96.5 was a three-way battle between Hill FM (Broken Hill), Flow FM (Pinnaroo) and Triple H. The tropo seems to favour Broken Hill as I’m getting nearly all of the FMs from there minus 102.1 Triple J (ABC Swan Hill) and 107.7 2DRY (Mixx Swan Hill).
This is a pretty decent opening so far. Strong enough on peaks that I’m losing Sunshine Coast and Mt Nardi stations to Bendigo and Mt Gambier, respectively.
