Can’t say that I’ve noticed them, but it could be that I just assumed that they were just the Canberra stations. I’ll try to pay closer attention next time I notice something on 91.1/91.9.
Might be best to try 91.1 during the cricket or other sports coverage, though unfortunately that’s not in the morning. Sunday afternoon/early evening might be a good time to try with sports coverage+ ample flights. Bendigo 91.1 was usually heavily mixed with 1CMS.
I forgot about Orange 91.9 too which might make Bendigo a harder catch.
getting Au dx from hobart tonight, audio sounds crackly like Aurora dx normally sounds like
getting unknown talk on 106.3 now thats not mixx fm colac or flow fm, maybe sbs adelaide?
as well as unknown talk on 106.5, 104.7, 104.1 sounds like abc classic as well as comfirmed edge 102.1 all with the 10-el facing south towards the aurora
Just had some sporadic Bendigo reception. brief RDS fade up on 91.9… 90.3 JJJ and 91.1 3CRR heard as well.
Possibly Auroral induced Es, though hard to pin down definitively as we are approaching the regular Es season.
The strong aurora did produce some unseasonal Es in Europe last night. The Es is of course a seperate mode to standard auroral scatter, which is very distorted as above.

Es going the other way too, just had 2RE here
Just had 5KIX Kangaroo Island in Bowral. Must be the Aurora.
Port Lincoln is in on 93.9 with the 20 20 Retro Countdown.
Kalgoorlie ABC Classic and Triple J into Mildura as well (95.5 and 98.7)
EDIT: Briefly had all ABCs but now faded out. 96.3 wasn’t an ABC but cant tell what it is off by hand.
Getting Esperence here
Albany Wa too now 2400kms
Back again now
Es has died off here now, but still going at midnight on the Mildura server
Had a very good run tonight, logged Albany, Esperance, Streaky Bay, Alice Springs, Coober Pedy ect
The FMLIST map after the Es burst. I’ve never seen such a wide coverage of E skip reception before. Really think we have to thank the Aurora for causing it.
At the end of it all my server managed to log Hit 95.3 from Albany as well. If there’s still some Aurora activity tonight there’s a chance the E skip may return
When was the end of it? I heard a Phil Collins song on 105.5MHz over ABC Classic Ballarat from the Melb server last night. I’m not sure what station that was. Stream didn’t match that of Coffs or 5ROX. ![]()
Phil Collins on 105.5, you may have gotten the 2VM translator at Mungindi perhaps? Or maybe even 2BS from Oberon, though I’m not sure what 2BS plays. Nearly everything else on that frequency is either Triple J or Classic FM.
Speaking of Classic FM, I did get briefly some extremely choppy and distorted reception from 95.7 Classic FM Sydney, a first time for me. Sadly no RDS but interesting to hear nonetheless.
You also were getting bunbury on 93.3 and 94.1 for awhile, no hit 95.7 which was interesting.
Hey that’s my local ABC Classic Station. It’s actually the ABC Classic Service from the Illawarra, so congrats on receiving Knights Hill at your location.
I do wonder if you got anything else from around that way.
Sadly Classic was about all that I could decipher. Even my semi permanents from the Riverland (91.5 5RM and Magic 93.1) had some pretty severe co channel interference that I couldn’t pin down a definite source.
Possibly 2EC Eden? Though only low powered.
Very plausible it could had been 2EC as around 9pm (based on my reception of 5CC Port Lincoln and the fact that both use the ARN Regional Classic Hits log although adjusted for timezones) they would had been playing “Something Happened on the Way to Heaven” by Phil Collins.
It was playing Phil Collins - One More Night at exactly 11:05 UTC, (thats when I took the recording). Wonder if that can help you narrow it down, still think it mightve been ROX fm and the stream was just delayed.
It wasn’t 2EC then, just checked Lava for 10pm-ish NSW/VIC time last night (unlikely they would have played another Phil Collins song so soon after what Dani-Chan posted above anyway).
Quite possible, it was 1-2 minutes after I heard the song (& I think it was that song I heard too, via your webserver,) that I got to check the ROX website stream, by which time it could have been streaming the next song on their playlist.
