The station relaying ONE is meant to be an SBS station… Given that in regional areas, ONE is the next channel up from SBS radio on Digital TV, and I suspect a Set Top Box is being used to feed the signal to the transmitter.

The very same issue has existed with SBS Murrurundi on 100.1.

Picking up an interesting one on 107.1, Interesting because the announcer stated (multiple times) that it was 107.5 and I couldn’t hear him clear enough to hear what station name he was saying (sounded like hole/old FM) talking about sport. Confirmed it not to be 2AA, 2KY or 2OCB.

The current program is jazz and the announcer listed off a bunch of community stations around Australia (apparently this is a networked show?) but I wasn’t in the room to catch most of them.

It’s most likely to be 107.1 Highland FM (2WKT) from Bowral, as I’ve heard jazz on that frequency just now.

Looks like that’s it. Why it didn’t come up on my google searches I’ll never know.

An addendum to yesterday’s post; the DX on 96.5 and 98.1 was possible because Wave FM and i98 were operating at reduced power. They are back to full strength today.

Some additional logs from yesterday that I forgot to mention:

91.5 The Range Toowoomba (presumed with country mx, mixing with Cooloola)
97.5 4RGD/t Dalby (hit 97.5 RDS)
100.7 4RGD Toowoomba (hit 100.7 RDS)

Toowoomba at 100 MHz is extremely rare into Sydney.

I did check on 100.7 yesterday afternoon at my home near Campbelltown, but all I got was 2WOW Penrith.

Just an idea I had early this morning while not sleeping, keeping much better track of what stations I DX:

From my experience, the RTL SDRs aren’t that good with sensitivity and can also easily get overwhelmed if there’s a strong signal nearby (causing images).

I have two of them, I have line of sight to a hospital pager transmitter and it does create havoc with 144mhz Amateur Radio, and on my scanner will create havoc with Air Band aswell as Vicpol / CFA freqs at about 163-168Mhz.

Also it will create havoc on 507Mhz because of the high powered Yarra Trams transmitters.

As to DX, and all I seem to get is ABC Local Radio Bendigo / JJJ Bendigo / Classical FM Bendigo.

I do also receive Bay 93.9 and more recently The Polse 94.7 Geelong, but thats not DX.

I don’t really see why if the antenna is pointed towards MA, the TV should receive WIN Bendigo, etc.

Some lower power stations received on Sunday (lower than the ABC’s and main commercials!)

Also unid station in mono on 99.1 with “old time” music - Yarra Valley?

I’m well aware of that. The second sheet will contain listings from my other radio which would be more accurate.

That’s a good list. Is SBS Bathurst transmitting its normal program now? Last time I heard them, they were relaying ONE…

The coverage of 97.5 Sapphire FM is extremely poor, so you did well getting it. In-car coverage doesn’t even extend to Bega on the Princes Highway. There are a few select spots on the adjacent Monaro tableland where it is audible, however.

Victorian FM into Brisbane today. Smooth with RDS.

Had a report of Emerald 4TAB 95.5 being heard in Shepparton Vic at Midday. Of course it also could have been our Bundaberg service also.

Quite a good opening from Victoria, Tasmania and SA to SEQ today. Multiple stations jostling on some frequencies.

93.9 was a good example within a 2 minute period (in addition to Hitz from Bundaberg) there was 2LF Young alternating with BAY FM Geelong then both being swamped by ABC FM from Hobart, it was hard to know which station you were hearing. 95.3 variously had MMM Shepparton, Coast FM Warrnambool and Flow FM from SA with RDS all in addition to the usual Coast FM Cooloola Coast and ABCFM Lismore.
Managed to get all Hobart stations except 107.3
