I think he is referring to when Sydney was South Melbourne, and Fitzroy was a team prior to merging with Brisbane Bears.

I love it. But yes they both have huge melbourne roots and supporters. Melbourne is going to be buzzing this week and I can’t wait for it.

No doubt - all starts on Monday with the glitter and glam of the Brownlow Medal.
Seven will be happy about this - increased ratings in Sydney and Brisbane will look good for 5-city data.
Also I guess Melbourne Airport will be happy given there will be extra traffic coming in over the week - also expect airfares to have doubled by now.
Seeing as I can predict the future.

still under Jared Schofield they did quite badly in the last 2 games of the season. I still think if Jared Schofield coach a full season, WCE would have won more games this year. To be honest, if Simpson was still coaching they would have won only 3 this year.
Or they could try having Gather Round in Sydney, or Brisbane. Queensland could offer games in Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Cairns.
Even having an AFLW gather round could be another option if AFL want’s to stay in Adelaide.
Opening Round is also a good idea - are NRL heading back up to Vegas next year?

And they wonder why more people want to last night’s AFL final (44,053 at a 48 000 seat SGC), than the NRL final (19,124 at a 42,500 Allianz Stadium) .

But more people watch the NRL on TV in Sydney.
An interesting comparison would be an AFL QF between Kangaroos and say PA at the MCG up against Storm vs say NZ Warriors next door at AAMI.
