Port Adelaide 2nd!? :joy::joy::joy:

Haha maybe a bit biased but we will see. They have a good draw.

I cannot believe ABC News Victoria did not report on today’s fixture announcement. Even SBS covered it. The time spent on the live cross to Greg Jennett for a chat on the issue of Senate president Stephen Parry being a possible dual citizen could have been used for a report on the fixture.

West Coast launched its new logo last night to coincide with its move to a new training base at Lathlain Park and playing home games at the new Perth Stadium. It is only the third logo in the club’s 30 year history.

Looks good! It was in a dire need of an update

I wasn’t at all surprised to see that yet again Tassie had been dudded when it comes to next year’s fixture. They only positives from it IMO is having Carlton in Hobart and the two Saturday night games at either end of the state. As for the rest of it, same same junk games with lower teams.

Good to see the taxpayers are getting there money’s worth here again…

It’s an utter joke to see Carlton have that many Friday primetime games for next year. Who in their right mind thought they deserved that after their really poor showings in recent years. Should’ve just shared some with the likes of Brisbane if that’s how it is.

Also disappointing to see the Doggies lose the Good Friday game for next year after just one go at it after many years of campaigning for it. And why give it to St. Kilda of all teams?

Collingwood will also have a new logo for next year to ‘embrace change’ according to the club:

And Melbourne getting only one Thursday/Friday night game is just as ridiculous as well! At least they get a Tursday night though.

Perth Stadium became Optus Stadium after WA government announced yesterday of the naming rights. This is a 10-year rights deal to host AFL, NRL, Rugby and concerts.

I was thinking Crown might have taken up naming rights given its near the Casino.

Crown were looking to save money IIRC. They pulled their sponsorship deals for Crown Oaks Day at Flemington and also NRL teams Melbourne Storm and South Sydney Rabbitohs, among other things too

International Rules starts on Sunday.

Anyone interested? I feel this was soemwhat big years ago, I think Ten put a lot more effort in.

Though saw promos on Seven this week.

I will be interested to see the ratings compared to the Rugby League World Cup.

I am actually going to the match. Hopefully they get the 40k they wanted.

I think that’s a bit unfair.

As I expect even AFL markets will be somewhat disinterested.

International Rules games are generally pretty close games??
Whereas the only RLWC games involving Australia that are likely to be close are against NZ and England.

The game between Australia and Lebanon tomorrow night is unlikely to be a close one, and I don’t think will get the same audience that the game between AUS and ENG did 2 weeks ago.

RLWC has been rating big though, that’s the thing. Probably surprised everybody, Seven, Nine and NRL included. Even if results have been one sided

I hope for the AFL the International Rules still draws a crowd (both literally and expresionally - is that even a word? Synonym please).

figuratively.

Just over 25K the crowd, home side won by 10 points helped by a late goal to Shuey (goals in this game are under the bar, overs are over the bar, behinds are self explanatory but foreign to Gaelic players), Ireland need to win by 10 points in Perth to retain the Cormac McAnellan trophy (McAnellan played for Ireland, toured Australia one year, scored an Own Goal, and tragically died in a car crash before the next series).
