I’ll never forget the look on his face in 2018 just before full time when the Eagles came from nowhere to win the Grand Final. Priceless!

If GWS and Carlton win the prelims, then hopefully the granny goes the way Round 24 went.

Fox Sports’ Max Laughton last night provided this interesting stat.

This is the 2nd time under this #AFLFinals that both qualifying final losers lost their semi finals.

2014 - Geelong (3rd, lost to 6th NM), Fremantle (4th, lost to 5th PA)
2023 - Port Adelaide (3rd, lost to 7th GWS), Melbourne (4th, lost to 5th CAR) @FOXFOOTY

Also last night, Harry Sheezel was named North Melbourne’s best and fairest player for 2023, two weeks after claiming the AFL Rising Star award. Sheezel polled with 197 votes ahead of second-placed Nick Larkey (173) and third-placed Bailey Scott (140). Sheezel was also named the club’s Best Young Player and claimed the fan-voted Mazda Excellence Award. Larkey led the club’s goalkicking tally for a third straight season with a career-high 71 goals.

Yes Sam McClure mentioned that on 3AW Football this afternoon too (maybe from that post), Fox Sports’ Max posts interesting stats, along with Seven Sport’s Josh Kay and ‘Swamp’.

I can’t imagine there would be many families who would turn down that offer… a free funeral!

To be honest they were even lucky to even win.

Yeah would have loved to see the Giants win… hoping the Lions win tonight as i think they’ll have a better chance at beating the Pies next week than Carlton will.

Was hoping GWS would get up last night but geez it was funny how quiet the crowd was when Collingwood were so far behind in the third quarter.

Still hoping for Carlton to win tonight, I feel like they deserve it and I really do hope they can get up and certainly there will be a huge vibe around Melbourne with that old rivalry again.

Whatever Fagan said at the QTR break worked. I assumed he went ballistic at them

Brisbane are into next Saturday’s grand final against Collingwood, beating Carlton by 16 points at The Gabba this evening. Carlton kicked the first five goals, before the Lions kicked six of the next seven goals to take the lead. From there, the home side took control, keeping the Blues goalless in the third term.

It will be the Lions’ first grand final appearance since their loss to Port Adelaide in 2004, and the third grand final between Brisbane and Collingwood this century.

The result means the Lions haven’t lost a game at The Gabba this season - 13 wins from 13.

Disaster.

Regardless of next week’s result, wow this final’s series has been fantastic. Amazing that the Lions came back when they looked dead in the first quarter.
