Wow. Look at Friday at 7:30pm. Repeats literally 2 days later. Shocking scheduling there.
I’m not a fan of the repeats in the 7.30pm hour on Fridays either.
A shame that Love Your Garden was bumped to a later slot.
Only because of the low performance of Love Your Garden.
Gardening Australia is back the following week and new Van der Valk - the encores will move back to late night
I reckon repeats will not happen next time when ABC’s usual programming goes on temporary hiatus

Van der Valk- S4 Episode 2
Friday 6 September 8.30pm
Van Der Valk and the team are confronted with a unique emotional puzzle when the prime suspect in their latest murder investigation turns out to be a famous singer and missing person presumed to have been dead for a number of years. But is she?
Van Der Valk and the team are called in when an environmental campaigner is murdered on the eve of a global conference. Several potential suspects are caught on CCTV, one of which would appear to be Cobie Stegenga, a famous singer who went missing and is now presumed dead. The world assumes she committed suicide as a result of the stress of fame.
Eddie, a former fan of hers, thinks differently. Her body was never found and he thinks she just went into hiding. Either way, she is now the prime suspect in a murder investigation. How do you find a missing person?
Van Der Valk connects with Cobie’s father, Marcus Stegenga, a dignified man who has never given up hope that his daughter is alive and is keeping her beloved birds in anticipation of her return. But is his paternal love all that it seems? Friends and neighbours, Anki and her son Jesse, are concerned about the toll events have taken on Marcus and worry about the strain on him.Separately, the team uncover an illicit trade in the smuggling of rare birds and have to determine in what way this crime connects with Cobie’s disappearance in order to unlock the truth behind what’s happened and perhaps, just perhaps, innocent or guilty, return her home.

Leeds-based Detective Inspector Louisa ‘Lou’ Slack is keeping a dark secret. Though everyone around her sees an upstanding citizen and accomplished police officer, they don’t know that for the last twenty years, she has been in the pocket of Leeds’s pre-eminent drug trafficker, Col McHugh; the two have used each other to climb up the ranks in their respective careers, becoming close friends and confidants in the process.
Lou’s husband Ceri is less than pleased to see Lou head off on her latest assignment for Col. At a dilapidated pub repurposed as a drug lab but now ruined by what appears to have been a gunfight, Lou finds what she is looking for – a pistol; on her way out, Lou witnesses a young man, a casualty of the gunfight, breathe his last breath. Back home, Ceri continues to be frustrated by Lou’s tendency to keep him in the dark about the details of her work with Col.
The next day, Lou prepares for Col’s imminent birthday party; despite Lou’s reminders of Col’s generosity over the years, Ceri refuses to join her, electing to stay and look after Owen, who has been feverish lately; Ceri wonders why Lou has been taking on more assignments from Col recently. Lou is driven to the party by Bulgey, Col’s right-hand man, and Noel, a member of Col’s gang, who keeps her phone for security.
Upon receiving her phone back after the party, Lou finds a deluge of texts and missed calls from Ceri; Owen has been rushed to hospital after Ceri found him unconscious and covered in rashes.

Grantchester Season 9
Saturday 21 September 7.30pm
Geordie and Will return for more crime-solving in the picturesque village. Change is in the air as Will seeks new challenges and Reverend Alphy KoBaram becomes the new vicar.
It’s 1961 and times are changing in Grantchester. Will has begun to seek new challenges elsewhere,
while Geordie and Cathy deal with an independent Esme being free in a dangerous world. It’s not long before Reverend Alphy KoBaram arrives as the new vicar, immediately enchanted by the glorious village. But will the locals ever be able to accept him as one of their own?
EPISODE 1
Carson’s Circus has rolled into town and Will, Geordie and the rest of the Grantchester family are making the trip. They delight in watching mind-bending illusions and death-defying stunts. But the very next morning, one of the performers, Errol Macabre, is found dead, having been shot with a crossbow that was used in a magic trick. Was this a tragic accident caused by a malfunctioning prop?
When Geordie sees that the crossbow has been tampered with, he realises this was no such thing. Someone wanted Errol dead. But with the circus closed and the rest of the performers having alibis
for the time of the murder, who could possibly have done this? Will is called to meet with the bishop where he is surprised to be offered an opportunity to move to
another parish, one with greater responsibility and challenges. When he mentions this to Geordie, they quickly dismiss it – after all, Will has a great life with Bonnie, along with their family and friends,
here in glorious Grantchester. Why give it all up?When Bonnie hears of this, she’s affronted that Will has made this decision without her. She reminds him that they might end up coasting if they stayed here – do they really want to rest on their laurels? Will finds himself torn between staying or going.
Things aren’t too steady at the Keating house either. Mrs C’s presence is starting to grate on the kids
and Geordie is aghast to find her ironing his underpants. Geordie returns home one night to be greeted by the kids. An eager Esme tell him that she’s been offered a job at the offices of Harrison and Sons.
Whilst initially surprised, Geordie is proud of his daughter, now grown-up and independent. He later finds Cathy writing a letter to Harrison and Sons, turning the job offer down on Esme’s behalf. Geordie has to convince Cathy that they need to allow Esme this opportunity.Production credit: A Co-Production of Kudos and MASTERPIECE for ITV

Better - Episode 2
Sunday 22 September 9.20pm
Lou invites further suspicion when she fails to warn Col about a raid. Meanwhile, Owen returns home from the hospital to a new normal and joins a support group, while Lou and Esther make a shocking discovery during the raid.
In 2004, Lou meets Col as a junior officer in the police. In the present, Lou reminds Col of their equal partnership and how she intends to do what she can to ensure Col’s organisation remains untouchable. Col accepts this and sends Lou on her way, but Bulgey isn’t pleased. Bulgey and Artem pay Jade Wilkes a visit to determine whether she revealed the whereabouts of Noel’s safehouse.
Meanwhile, Lou tries to get a hold of Jade but is only able to get her voicemail. Col and his crew discuss the possibility that Lou is working against him, and it’s suggested they test her loyalty.
At home, Lou broaches the idea of quitting her job, which would mean relying on Ceri’s construction business for money; Ceri figures they can manage, and they begin to work out what that might look like. Sandy is disappointed to hear Lou wants to quit the force as she hoped to set up a taskforce to go after Col.
When Owen returns home from the hospital, they all face the difficulty of the new normal.
Lou tracks down an old colleague of her father, a former detective who was dismissed from the force in the early 90s after confessing to being on the take, and has spent his days ever since alone in squalor; Lou is curious to understand his reason for confessing all those years ago, but realises he only did it to avoid a harsher punishment.
Owen attends his first support group session where he forms an instant connection with Donal, who has been sent there by Col, and introduces himself under a fake name.

Grantchester - Series 9, Episode 8
Saturday 28 September 7.30pm
An abandoned baby is discovered on the same day that a hotel manager is found dead. Things are complicated further when Geordie is blindsided by Will’s news.
Will wants to grab a quiet moment with Geordie to tell him that he and Bonnie have decided to leave
Grantchester. But with everyone over for Sunday lunch, it’s not easy. Any chance he might have had
is then thrown out the window when Geordie receives a call about a dead body at the River View Hotel. As the time approaches for Sunday service, Will and Bonnie enter the church discussing the merits of their decision to leave but are stopped short on discovery of an abandoned baby inside. When they inspect the blanket the baby is wrapped in, they see it is marked with ‘River View Hotel’. Surely this can’t be a coincidence.
They learn that a young woman had checked into the hotel the night before and made a phone call
to the halfway house. Will and Geordie realise that the young woman had called to speak to Sam, Leonard’s street preacher friend. It turns out that the young woman had come to some of his talks and she’d reached out to him for his help.Bonnie’s son, Ernie, reports that he witnessed a young girl wearing a school blazer enter the church
that morning. The blazer had a logo on the front, that of the Fidelis School for Girls. Was the mother
of the baby a pupil at this prestigious girls’ school and felt pressured to give her up? And how does the hotel manager’s death fit into all of this? As Will and Geordie probe into the staff and pupils of the school, secrets start to emerge that turn the entire investigation on its head.Meanwhile, Will finds an inopportune moment during the investigation to tell Geordie that he, Bonnie and the kids are leaving Grantchester. Geordie is clearly stung by the news but tries to hide his true feelings by saying nothing.
Frustrated that Geordie won’t talk to him, Will confronts Geordie at the vicarage that evening, trying his utmost to explain why they’ve taken this decision. Geordie shoots back that he thinks Will is being selfish by splitting up the families like this.
Hurt and upset, Geordie charges into the next room and unceremoniously announces to everyone that Will and Bonnie are leaving, even blaming Bonnie for putting Will up to this. Will is left angered and frustrated by Geordie’s reaction but only hopes they can repair their friendship before the time comes for the Davenports to leave.

Sunday 29 September 9.20pm
Col’s latest attempt to procure an additional supply of drugs comes up short. Lou decides not to quit her job, instead joining a taskforce targeting Col. Lou and Vernon’s efforts backfire, potentially triggering all out war.
Lou delivers the sealed package; aware Col’s testing her. Col’s latest attempt to procure an additional supply of drugs comes up short so he plans to get in touch with another associate in Bradford; Lord Roy deems this as reckless as they have a deal with a Bradford-based gang, led by the Malik brothers, not to set foot in their territory.
Lou and Vernon struggle to come up with a viable plan to take Col down until Lou remembers Col’s associate in Bradford. Vernon visits an old friend, Lynne, and offers her cash to tip off Bradford police to the planned meeting with Col’s Bradford associate.
When they arrive in Bradford for the meeting, Col’s men are ambushed by masked men sent by the Maliks. Lou and Vernon figure out that Lynne warned the Maliks instead of going to Bradford police. Col is furious about the ambush but sees a potential war with the Maliks as an opportunity to expand into their territory.
To avoid war, Lou suggests planting drugs on the Maliks, framing them to remove them from the picture. Col’s men are unable to plant drugs in the Maliks’ car so Bulgey calls off the plan; but Lou convinces them that she can plant them herself once the Maliks have been pulled over.
As planned, a fake anonymous tip is called into the OCT that the Maliks are coming into Leeds in possession of drugs; Lou and Esther lead a team to intercept the Maliks and search their car. Lou manages to plant the drugs but as she walks away, she realises Esther had a clear view of her in the car.

Grantchester - Season 9 Episode 3
Saturday 5 October 7.30pm
Geordie and new vicar Alphy KoTaram get off on the wrong foot but soon find themselves teaming up to investigate the murder of a local landowner.
Geordie is still mourning Will’s departure when Mrs C charges into the pub, with reports of a “swarthy” gentleman breaking into the vicarage. Geordie leaps into action and heads straight inside the vicarage to confront the intruder. A tussle ensues between them before Geordie is confronted by the realisation that this man is no burglar – he’s the new vicar. The man introduces himself as Reverend Alphy KoTaram.
As Alphy settles into life in Grantchester, his first order of business at the church is a funeral service,
for a local landowner, Albert Baron, who took his own life. The service is abruptly interrupted by a warring family, the Walkers, and a fight breaks out in the church. As the Walkers leave, Albert’s son,
Harvey, accuses the Walkers of murdering his father.Alphy corrals the two families into the vicarage as Geordie arrives to investigate. But Alphy doesn’t
plan on helping him and heads off to the pub. Geordie quickly ascertains that the Barons and Walkers have been arguing over a contested bit of land for centuries. Not only that, but Harvey and
his sister, Rachel, have evidence to suggest that their father’s death was not properly investigated.
Was Albert’s death a murderous resolution to years of acrimonious dispute between the two families? Or were there secrets in the families that someone wanted to keep hidden?Meanwhile, Cathy and Geordie are still getting used to Esme’s newfound independence when Cathy
storms into the police station, angry and worried that Esme hasn’t come home. Once Esme is found
at the pub with friends and then dragged home, an argument breaks out at the Keatings’ house.Things comes to a head when Mrs C accuses Cathy and Geordie of not disciplining their children properly, at which point Cathy tells Mrs C it’s time for her to leave their house for good.
