Quentin Hull hosting the first half of Grandstand from ABC Melbourne studios today.

A Melbourne-based ABC radio presenter was able to claim nearly $6,000 in rental expenses when doing his tax return previously.
Ned Hall was able to do this because he converted his second bedroom into an office during the pandemic and claimed the occupancy costs associated with working from home. Despite his claims being initially blocked by the Commissioner of Taxation, it was upheld recently by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

It’s the first time the podcast has a live audience.

Since late 2025 the ABC listen app has added an ABC Sport Rapid button, which allows you to listen to the live call of selected sports in sync with the TV broadcast.

Appears to be a couple of seconds behind digital radio (which is ahead of the Fox broadcast via sat). I’ll check when I get home how it is with Fox and Seven.

Two new AFL and NRL programs for ABC Radio
The ABC will launch two new weekly radio shows on a Monday night, AFL Monday with Corbin & Ben and NRL Monday with Andrew Moore. Both commence Monday February 23 on ABC Radio and ABC listen.
Running throughout the 2026 AFL and NRL seasons, the new Monday lineups will deliver analysis, insider access and breaking news for fans of both codes.
The AFL version will be hosted by Corbin Middlemas and Ben Cameron, with weekly insights from former Carlton captain Marc Murphy. The one-hour show airs from 6:30pm on 774 ABC Melbourne. The final 30 minutes will also broadcast across ABC Victoria. Audiences outside Victoria can stream the show live on ABC listen or catch up via the AFL Daily podcast.

Corbin will be busy on Mondays, also recording the ABC Cricket Podcast with Ed Cowan during daytime.
EDIT: the NRL version will air from 6.30pm on ABC Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane, with the final 30 minutes also broadcast in regional NSW and QLD.
