Fixed now, regular programming back on, regular programming on News as well, and NRL on Local Radio, no Women’s football on analogue that i can find.
BBC WS was airing on NR around 8pm NSW time.
Poor planning. Should have had sport on NewsRadio.

I don’t mind him because he and Waleed often disagree but they disagree in a very agreeable way, which is rare in today’s media. I just reckon the accent grate to Australian ears, whereas if he was a posh brit we wouldn’t mind it as much.

Programming changes for RN on Wednesday and Thursday (March 25-26)
With many of the ABC’s radio staff members of either the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance or Community and Public Sector Union, the ABC is expected to have to make major changes to its radio programming, including running a national broadcast across its local stations.
Radio National’s Late Night Live will air a rerun on Wednesday. Host David Marr is a longtime MEAA member.
The ABC’s audio boss Ben Latimer told Radio National staff on Tuesday that the station will mostly run BBC content or reruns of existing content throughout the 24-hour protected strike period. Latimer also told staff that talkback stations and news programs will be filled by a mix of syndicated and pre-recorded programs.
At 11 AM, Radio National aired five minutes of classical music, then an apology for disruptions was broadcast and then at 11:05 AM, a repeat episode of the Law Report from February 2026 was aired.

No news available yet. So classical music is played at the top of the hour. At 1:05 PM because there is no World Today available, a repeat of the Book Show is played.
The strike is supposed to be over at noon AEDT, isn’t it?
The strike ended at 11am AEDT but you couldn’t make a new episode of The World Today in an hour. Shows like AM and PM take hours to produce and edit as they include pre-recorded stories.

Why is there so much “science” content on both Radio National and BBC World Service?
Is there some sort of Commonwealth directive that national broadcasters have to be like “Now it’s The Science Hour, followed by Science Matters, then a fun offbeat look at science with The Science Show…”

ABC RN is a bit of an enigma tbh. Lots of good programs over the years, but tends to be a pretentious leftist-intellectual echo chamber. A Writer’s Festival on the airwaves….
Bring back Counterpoint. That added some contrarian spice to an otherwise monochrome offering.

I don’t think Tom Switzer is coming back to ABC radio anytime soon given what he’s been accused of. 2SM might take him though…

2sm would take road kill as long as it could put up with the 5 callers .
“RN is too woke” is not my complaint, they should be more woke if anything. I would just like one science show instead of 27
