…not to mention the territories (where ABC News is the only live, locally produced, seven day a week news service)!

Two redundancies are likely at the ABC in Canberra. But nine staff are being asked to fight for their jobs while others have been quarantined from the cuts.
Terrible the way Craig has been treated, the job he was waiting for for 20 years was given to somebody else just to meet a quota, and now he’s fighting for his job.

Although I probably agree that Craig Allen was ripped off when Virginia Haussenger left, exactly what quota does Dan Bourchier tick (other than also being the presenter of ABC Canberra’s breakfast show on the radio)?
From the little I’ve seen of his news presenting, Dan is an average to OK-ish newsreader but probably still better than Geoff Phillips or Vanessa O’Hanlon.

They subtly hinted it was due to his indigenous heritage, it was right around when the ABC was having a push to a more diverse presenter line up.

The top story refused to play the first time, so it had to be re-introduced and tried again. Also seems the autocue failed a little bit.
