I don’t think so. Besides the presenter pre-reads all of the scripts and would have noticed it. Apart from the idiocy of blurting out something so obviously wrong.
Nope, as I said dodgy data. This is from yesterday’s observations. Several instance during the day. There’s even been one today though not as extreme. Usually stations are taken offline when they do this.
Should never had been included in a television news weather report. That’s on Danny I’d say unless he doesn’t seem the script before reading on air then it would.be the producer for the weather segment.
Not sure if this is the right thread, but Antony Green has been presented with an excellence in broadcasting award by ABC Friends aka Friends of the ABC.
I could be completely wrong, but I thought the ABC News presenters had a big hand in writing the news. I’m pretty sure I’ve heard Ian Henderson and Tamara Odouyn mention this on the radio before.
Saturday 15/11
Lydia Feng Presenting NSW
Yes they do, but the weather would be updated during the bulletin so perhaps when the newsreader does the weather they don’t have as much input as the news script.
It isn’t Frankie. You can tell because the graphics often don’t match the script. So the graphics will be up to date (automated) but the script will be written hours before when the newsreader is also doing weather.
Isabelle Higgins presenting the Late News.
Tamara Oudyn back presenting in Victoria tonight.

It’s the first report Sharnelle has filed since joining the ABC as Melbourne breakfast presenter in late 2024.
The article was an extended version of what she told listeners on this morning’s show.
Does the old Nsw 7pm set/studio still get used?
On the odd occasion. Not very often these days.
I thought it still got used by the ABC News 24 channel?
Nope the news 24 is the one that has the round desk
When the main NC is in use or unavailable, yes.
