But they don’t take Perth. Go figure.
Trying to make a continuous 2.5-hour news block?
Most likely - I guess the ABC thinks viewers would prefer live content over the same programs on repeat to fill time.
But then again apart from breaking news situations like tonight I doubt the NC get’s many viewers on weekend evenings to begin with.
I assume thats because they already have a live bulletin airing at the same time.

Likewise, not taking the Queensland bulletin at 8pm AEDT.

I think it’s great they’re showing bulletins from Around the country. Would you rather live news than replays?
I do wonder though how they replaced to handle this breaking news out of Venezuela.

They’re not rolling with this story even during their self-produced bulletins anyway, so the story mix doesn’t seem off to casual viewers.
Update above: They’re rolling now.

They flew him to Sydney for that? Why couldn’t Tom do the weather. He’s a much better presenter

Yeah, flying him out of the emergency area? Weird.

Was bad enough yesterday being wholly Sydney based - would’ve been better for Southbank to take over a couple of hours of anchoring in the afternoon. If this was happening in QLD they would’ve flown Joe over by now.
