Gary Adshead to wrap up on ABC Radio Perth at the end of this year

At the start of his Drive program on ABC Radio Perth this afternoon, Tuesday October 7, Gary Adshead announced that he will wrap up at the station and on radio at the end of this year.

Abc local talk is actually catching old 2sm callers like Mark the tree cutter, Dave sutherland gave him the nickname years ago ,

More open line talk on abc might help stop the brainless blow off on 2sm.

Bob Murphy ran the Melbourne Marathon this morning, completing the race in 3 hours, 58 minutes and 28 seconds. He will recall his experience on the ABC Melbourne breakfast tomorrow.

ABC Sports Daily appears to be no longer on anymore at 6:30pm weeknights according to online guides.

Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide still have it listed for the rest of the week.

Appears to have only been dropped from Brisbane - presumably to give them an extra 15 minutes of local content since they lose an hour of the evenings show so they can take Nightlife live when the southern states have DST

Still been airing in Brisbane this week. The show looks to have disappeared from the online guide when daylight savings started. So might just be a guide issue with the adjustment of time zones.

From Radioinfo:

Sarah Cumming has announced she will be leaving ABC Gold Coast mornings to head to South Australia.

Cumming’s husband, Stuart Dew has been offered a role as a senior assistant coach with AFL club Port Adelaide.

Tom Forbes is filling in for Sarah currently.

Bathie has been axed from 10 News, so she might start doing Fridays now?

Is Bridget Duclos now permanent on 774 Melbourne afternoons? Sorry if I missed it further back in the thread.

Yes she has been the arvos host since the beginning of this year: Brigitte Duclos joins 774 ABC Melbourne in 2025 - About the ABC

God, she is truly awful. And that voice. Yikes.

I thought she might only be being used as a fill-in. Thanks for letting me know.

As someone on here said, 774 Melbourne has become a retirement home for third rate ex commercial FM folks who probably can’t get work elsewhere.

Yeah I miss the unhinged crazy gen x aunt energy that Jacinta brought during lockdown. I know she had to leave daily radio due to her health issues, but they should have chosen a similarly aged presenter. The arvos show now is less daggy and fun and more boring and unlistenable.

Andrew Daddo hosting Weekend Evenings while Sirine Demachkie is on holidays.
