Screen Australia today

> [@Screen Australia](https://forums.mediaspy.org/t/screen-australia/21384/56):
>
> _ **Crowded House** _: A feature-length documentary that dives deep into the Crowded House journey, unravelling the psychological complexities they faced in the wake of their meteoric rise, and spotlighting the evolution of the current line-up that includes Neil’s two sons, Liam and Elroy Finn. Woven from a treasure-trove of never-before-seen family and band archive, candid interviews, and more, the narrative moves between the past, present and a dream-like place of investigation and analysis that has the genius of Neil Finn’s song writing at its core. _Crowded House_ is a co-production between Ghost Pictures ([_Mystify: Michael Hutchence_](https://www.screenaustralia.gov.au/the-screen-guide/t/mystify--michael-hutchence-2019/34789), _Autoluminescent_, [_In Bob We Trust_](https://www.screenaustralia.gov.au/the-screen-guide/t/in-bob-we-trust-2013/30614)) and Academy Award-nominated producer, Carthew Neal (_Jojo Rabbit_, _Tickled_) and his production company Fumes. Financed by the New Zealand Film Commission in association with the ABC and VicScreen. Produced with the support of Primary Wave and Nude Run. An Australian-New Zealand Co-production. Australia and New Zealand territories distributed by Madman.

> Annabel Crabb and the team that brought you Kitchen Cabinet and Ms Represented are in development, with a new series investigating the barely-believable true story of how Australia’s globally unique voting system came to be.

In his speech to Melbourne Press Club today, ABC chair Kim Williams revealed a bit more about the show.

> The ABC also has longer-term plans for strengthening our electoral system, and later this year the inestimable Annabel Crabb will be presenting a new three-part documentary series explaining to Australians of all ages the uniqueness, strength and practical workings of our wonderful thoroughly independent electoral system.
>
> Few countries in the world can boast an organisation as well run and as trusted as the Australian Electoral Commission. Its old-fashioned use of paper ballots and old-fashioned sense of ethics and integrity make it the best. We all need our people to understand it and to feel proud of it. Because it is genuinely free from even the possibility of political interference.
>
> And I want to see our schools especially use this program to teach civics to the next generation of Australian voters as to just what a blessing we have in our electoral system.
>
> It will be another example of how, the ABC is taking, extraordinarily seriously, its responsibility not only to education but also the vital value of civics in our society.
