Sky staff were told on Wednesday that James Birtles, the broadcaster’s deputy head of programs, was rejoining his former employer to replace Amy McCarthy, who returned to the newsroom in August following a series of inappropriate social media posts at the Logie Awards.

Birtles was in discussions to rejoin Nine before the final Freya Fires Up broadcast, company sources not authorised to speak publicly said.

Nine News staffers were also informed of the decision to appoint Birtles on Wednesday morning in a note from Fiona Dear, the network’s top executive.

This is the most controversial interview in ACA history. Plus ACA had second thoughts if they want to put this on air and how carefully they produce this segment.

so it was Bonnie that approached ACA?

Possibly.

The “we are not giving her a platform” is a crazy take.

No just 18 minutes on a national television show in prime time. Aired during a timeframe when young males are potentially more likely to be watching

Even when with families of young kids under 18.

A Current Affair have helped Bonnie enormously. Given her 18 minutes of free advertising in national Australian television in prime time.

Was this a mistake giving her air time on Australian broadcast

It probably will rate well for Nine. Even people outraged will likely turn in out of curiosity. However it does potentially damage the brand of ACA somewhat

If it is true that Bonnie and her team approached ACA, they should reflect on why it is that they would want an interview on ACa

Imagine Tracy Grimshaw doing this interview

Does Stan have her documentary too?

I believe so. So good cross promotion

Yeah it’s on Stan i think and on 9Now

Big fan of Ally Langdon but unfortunately this is probably a low point of her career

it’s a current affairs show, and individual’s prudishness aside, this person is a current event. what’s the big deal?

Yeah and she’d agreed to do this interview. I was quite not impressed

Still cracking that million mark as usual.
