I’d say Beyond is now the outright copyright owner of both Stingers and Halifax FP.
Seven will have acquired both dramas from Banijay Rights which is now the distributor of Beyond’s back catalogue prior to 2022. It stems from founder Mikael Borglund’s deal to buy back Beyond from Banijay in January this year.
Police HQ for seasons 1-5 yes, but the actual base for the undercover team was a warehouse in South Melbourne (South or East haha ) . Season 6 onwards was fully at Bendigo street studios for Police HQ and the undercover unit due to cost cutting. A studio pub was built as well.
Just all seems very ironic that 7plus have picked it up, more so Halifax due to the fact of the more recent season on Nine. I guess this confirms no futures seasons of will be happening on Nine…
Cricket and AFL now on 7+ will surely have to lift its performance all year around. Wonder if it will also help streaming of other shows on the service?
Today’s AFL Grand Final should see the biggest number of viewers streaming 7plus at the one time since it started. Will the infrastructure be able to cope with the traffic?
It could be where a loss in broadcast audience is picked up.
Another calculation guess for today’s game, I got 4.075m total average, including 600k 7Plus (which I don’t think is out of the question). As for broadcast: 500k Syd and Bris a piece (allowing give or take in each), same scenario for Adel and Perth 300k a piece give or take and a flat 1m give or take for Melb. And just did 875k regional. Could all be more or less. I think if today if a good contest, there’ll be guaranteed big numbers, just not sure it’ll be records, except for bvod (AFL).
What about Nine’s Origins and NRL GFs, which seem to have broken its own record (non-Matildas) each time?
