Now we’re in-survey, as suspected, 7flix have returned to where they were up to late last year with CI, S6 (after playing S1 over summer) and should for the first time in a couple of years show S7-10 this year.
Also the original L&O (S5 with Chris Noth, Jerry Orbach and Jill Hennessy) is now at 7:30pm on Mondays, with CI taking 8:30pm and SVU out to 9:30pm.
Seems the franchise is still a consistent performer and maybe 7Plus too, TVT’s m/c survey last year indicated as much again and Seven Upfronts said it’ll continue in 2026, including more/new seasons.
TVCynic last week also provided data showing viewers are also tuning-in to classic Judge Judy and CSI. I’m assuming the movies on Fridays and Saturday still do solid, 7Bravo’s on Saturday should also benefit now too vs previous Sundays.
7flix opened the first broadcast day with just Once Upon A Time’s all morning, then films throughout the rest of the day. Good for 2.3% share with Love Actually drawing 110,000.
And from the next day on, it didn’t live up to its perceived focus. Does the word “flix” even mean anything?
I remember its promo campaign, following the tennis, which also included some still huge MKR numbers and the smash hit multi-award winning two-part telemovie Molly. A year which also saw Seven with the Rio Olympics and an AFL GF over 3m metro broadcast for the first time since 2012 or 2006.
MKRNZ is back and so is Manu but sitting alongside him this time is Colin. The competition kicks off in the harbourside city of Tauranga with Friends, Nada & Pops.
I too was wondering how far those second run FTA rights from NBC-U would go on Seven. So looks like 10’s ‘life of series’ licence for first run SVU, keeps the last few years’ rights (whether they do or can actually repeat them or not).
I think positive for flix, as I don’t think those Law & Order viewers would really be interested in seasons that have aired so recently and aren’t ‘classics’ with iconic cast, etc. And they’ve already gone back to the beginning with CI more than once and OG L&O (S5) again, though would be good to see L&O late 90s (last aired on Nine) and 2000s seasons (often hard to find anywhere such as when Dennis Farina replaced Jerry Orbach after 2004 following his tragic passing).
Do 10/Drama usually encore the premiere eps of SVU anyway?
So 10 have S27 they are screening now and have S26 in repeats available They must have S25 technically as well, hence why 7flix stopped at S24. I believe (but not 100%) that 10 have only 1 repeat for each season now.
