66th TV Week Logie Awards 2026

Strong argument for Mel and Tim to host.

Which means Seven will ignore it, and get Sonia “Freddy” Kruger and Dr Chris “Chesty Bonds” Brown to host.

Seven (still) need to get out of the 1990s

Ugh, I bet they will too

Fixed.

Of course they will. Gotta make them do something.

Jim Jefferies if you want an R-rated Logie Awards.

Which would be a good idea.

The Logies learnt years ago that an unexpected pairing can sometimes work extraordinarily well.

My suggestion for an unexpected duo would be Rob Irwin and Denise Scott. I think the intergenerational humour between the two of them would work really well, and they’d collaborate with cheekiness and warmth.

Between the two of them they’d appeal to different demographics. He’d bring in a younger generation whilst she would draw an older crowd. I also think the combination of both of them would add an element of intrigue, with fans of one intrigued to see how they work with the other.

Rob has the polish, charm and adaptability.
Denise has a tremendously dry wit and cheeky sense of humour. She also has hosting experience having recently hosted the Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala.

The banter between the two of them and Denise bringing Rob down a peg would be hilarious.

Doubt that Seven would ever consider this but I think it would be comedic gold that would draw audiences.

well given recent speculation about I’m A Celebrity it appears likely now that J. Morris may be looking for a gig… could they re-unite her with Dr Chris Brown on the Logies stage.

Shane Jacobson could host, especially when there is room to promote his latest game show on Seven - “Caught in the Middle”. He can talk about his other recent “hit” on Seven - “I Bought A Pub”.

The best approach would be to have Working Dog produce the whole show. They could use their roster of talent and have the comedic brains in the background crafting some hilarious and witty content. Working Dog have also shown though that they respect and want to honour (whilst slightly taking the Mickey) out of the golden ages of Australian television.

David Knox from TvTonight predicts who he thinks will be nominated for the Gold Logie (in his recent email newsletter):

And lastly, if I was to tip Gold Logie nominees this year I’d guess Sam Pang, Kitty Flanagan, Poh Ling Yeow, Robert Irwin, Todd Woodbridge, Ally Langdon.. and as outside shots Natalie Barr and Julia Morris. Check back in a few weeks to see how many I got right!

Apart from Kitty {whose shows may have been outside the voting eligibility period if i am not mistaken). I can see the rest being nominated. I can also see someone from the ABC rounding off the noms list - as what happened in the last three years.
Leigh Sales for 7.30, and Mark Coles Smith for Mystery Road Origin (in 2023), Tony Armstrong for News Breakfast (in 2024) and Lisa Miller for Dog Musters in 2025.

Agree this is a good list.
Would love Kitty to be nominated for her efforts across Fisk and Bad Company, however these don’t fit within the window. So unless she’s nominated purely for HYBPA it’s unlikely.

Objectively, Rob Irwin is undeniably the “most popular” personality on Australian TV, with over 9m Instagram followers, winning a global hit reality tv show and being appointed to host another.
However he may be disadvantaged by the facts that:

  1. His “Australian” tv show has just been axed.
  2. His enormous fan base may not be the demographic who votes for the Logies. In fact they may not even know what the Logie Awards are.

Would be a real coup if 7 could get Sarah Snook to present an award (perhaps even the Gold?)

Although she’s now a skyrocketing star globally, she does have Aussie TV roots having appeared in Packed to The Rafters, The Moodys, Redfern Now, All Saints, The Secret River, Sisters of War and The Beautiful Lie.

I’m telling you - it’s gonna be a Sonia Kruger/Dr Chris Brown hosting duo this year. Because Seven have nothing.

Or they’ll pilfer the SCA radio decks for host. Beau Ryan, anyone?

She’s not bogan enough for the Logies

Or… Nat Barr and Shirvo can host the Logies. They were “brilliant” and “not awkard at all” when they hosted their other primetime show, the Carols in the Domain…

Or Alex Cullen :stuck_out_tongue:
