62nd TV Week Logie Awards 2021-22

Herald Sun reports that Andy Lee said on radio station Nova this week that Nine’s director of TV, Michael Healy, turned to him on the night of the logies, saying that they have to get Sam Pang to host next year’s Logies. However, those close to Pang say he would never do it.

It isn’t the first time the story has been reported. The SMH has also revived it today:

Sully declined to comment to PS, but has never denied reports Wilkinson parked in a spot she had previously used, much to the newsreader’s annoyance. At one point Ten security staff had placed a traffic cone in the spot to preserve it for Sully, apparently to no avail.

It’s not like it’d be hard to find a car park at Pyrmont…

Nick Tabakoff reports in The Australian that there was an audible groan from key members of the Nine contingent when Lisa Wilkinson was announced as the winner of ‘Most Outstanding News Coverage’. One prominent Nine personality was heard to remark sardonically: “We’re about to get a sermon”.

Tabakoff belives that there are clear signs that Nine is keen to delete Wilkinson from its corporate memory, as viewers wishing to watch the Logies on 9Now will notice that Lisa’s speech has been erased, and a number of Nine’s most senior editorial figures have all taken aim at Lisa.

Well, any reasonable thinking person would realise that the speech was deleted for fear of legal action and not simply because of a gripe from Nine management with a former Nine employee.

Agreed. But that wouldn’t be juicy enough for readers though would it?

Lisa’s speech was deleted from 9Now for obvious legal reasons. And when other networks showed her acceptance of the award they didn’t play any audio.
