You really do have to give WIN (some) credit. They certainly were a creative bunch when it came to all the different versions of coverups. I’m surprised they didn’t get confused as to which one to use more often!!

Around the same time (2007) that WIN in SA dropped their Nine affiliation for a Seven one

Wasn’t until nearly 2010 that Nine programming resumed (albeit with Seven, Nine and Ten on their own individual channels for the first time) in the Riverland and Mount Gambier

As for WINs watermarks, some of them were a mess but the ones on Today (2016) were fine. As much of a running joke as it is, I think that these networks such as WIN are entitled to slap their logo over everything if they want to.

Surely I haven’t been the only one following Nine’s watermark move all over the screen this year when airing 20/20? It now sits in the top right corner, sans HD watermark, since they just cannot successfully cover the round ABC (US) watermark in the bottom right corner of the screen

I used to always laugh to myself whenever that big WIN coverup would appear over the Nine on the breakaway HD programming.

Especially during the PRG, the WIN would appear and then the balls of the Nine logo would fly in from the side and end up underneath it. It looked so bad.

I had a heap of recordings of it, but I think I’ve lost them since.

Haha! It’s like they disappeared into thin air! Not to mention the terrible timing errors to and from the ad-breaks. It was so bad.

That’s a shame. There’s not a lot of stuff from the 2009 HD channel (and even less from the 2005(?) HD channel).

I’m not sure if this is a common thing, but 7mateHD seemed to have watermark problems with the “Today’s Entertainment” filler segment this afternoon…

Just incase you were wondering, yes it was like this for the full segment!

You know what, we could easily fill out an entire vault/media gallery site solely with these WIN coverup abominations. There’s more than I originally remember to be honest (must’ve just blocked most of them out of my mind for obvious reasons!).

It was always a laugh when WIN were caught off-guard when Nine suddenly introduced a new watermark. Scrambling to get it covered up before Bruce chokes on his croquembouche and calls the 'Gong on the red telephone.

The HD part of the Nine watermark is alot more faded than the actual watermark in Perth. It actually looks decent. Can barely see the HD part
