The A List is a new, 8 part series hosted and produced by Richard Wilkins which will screen in 2017.
The program is based on hour-long interviews with celebrities and stars.
The Sunday Telegraph reports that Mark Fennessy will be co-producer, harking back to the pair’s successful MTV days and that the show will “be shaped around The Actor’s Studio, which delves into the lives and career paths of stars.”
From the article it mentioned how much quality was left on the cutting room floor from artists like Taylor Swift etc because they could only run 3 1/2 minutes of the material on Today.
If they let the star be the star, and people around them do the talking (aka This Is Your Life) then it could work.
IN-DEPTH INTERVIEWS WITH THE WORLD’S MOST INTERESTING STARS
The Nine Network today announced the production of an exciting new eight-part entertainment program, The A List.
Hosted by Channel Nine Entertainment Editor, Richard Wilkins, this ultimate celebrity series will feature in-depth interviews with the world’s most topical and talked-about artists, actors and A-list superstars. In similar fashion to Inside the Actors Studio, The A List presents a deeper, “fine dining experience” that goes beyond the typical promo chat.
The A List brings together the unique pairing of Wilkins with Endemol Shine Australia CEO, Mark Fennessy, who will both be the executive producers. The pair have a successful history from the days of MTV Australia and were responsible for bringing the first ARIA awards to television on the Nine Network.
The A List – enthralling, amusing and highly entertaining tales from the stars really worth listening to.

First episode is scheduled for next Sunday 18 June at 10pm. Given the usual overrun from The Voice earlier in the night, the actual start time will probably be much later.
Richard Wilkins interviews the world’s biggest entertainers including Tom Cruise, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Kylie & Kendall Jenner and Hugh Jackman and asks them the questions you want to know.
A Nine spokeswoman has told The Sunday Telegraph that the show is completed but cannot go to air, because it has taken longer than expected to get all the music clearances.
