Party in Wollongong

Would be interesting in five years if WIN ever would try to become the nine affiliate again. I would hope not though…

is it possible to upload the video of that “WIN welcomes Network TEN” party

That event really surprised me. Usually no regional TV stations would hold a party to celebrate the arrival of ten network

QTV didn’t hold a party when it switched to ten from nine because it’s too short notice. Even NBN wouldn’t be celebrating if it was forced to pick up ten network programs

I think every regional station would Rather they beam nine or seven network orograms.

WIN must have been very very angry with nine to want to have a party welcoming ten network programs.

Hopefully by then, we will have seen further media reform and the current regional networks being allowed to merge with their metropolitan counterparts.

But of course, five years is like an eternity in the media so absolutely anything can happen between now and then!

Or they just wanted to put a positive media spin on it.

Just checking, are WIN taking Network Ten programming in South Australia, WA, Tasmania, Mildura & Griffith?

Or is it just VIC, Sth NSW & QLD?

All markets, Luke.

I assume its nationally.

Thanks  I think I got confused for a moment, when I read about SCA.

Because Southern Cross Ten is only in VIC, NSW & QLD (and via SC in South Australia)

I’m guessing that is why Nine is so interested in transforming the Eastern Seaboard into Nine branding as they are the three key markets Nine are interested in… If media reforms happen and they purchase Qld, S NSW and Victoria it will be just a change of ownership and no one will notice any difference on air… Almost like preparing the stations for takeover…

Just caught a longer version of that promo, with confirmed logo for WIN HD. Looks great!

I like these slightly modified logos from WIN.
I actually prefer them from the WIN inside a TEN circle logo.

Is the numeric 10 still around? Will be interesting to see how they integrate the WIN logo if so.

That was never a logo though, was it? I thought that was just a cover-up element to “hide” the Ten logo with the WIN letters

I’m going to try and record all 12 of the Southern Cross and WIN channels from Knights Hill simultaneously for the switchover (i.e. WIN SD, WIN HD, 9Go!, 9Gem, GOLD, Extra, 9Life, SC10, One, Eleven, TVSN and Aspire).

If my editing program doesn’t crash trying to display 12 videos simultaneously, I’ll try to sync them all up together into video wall type video. No promises though, as my TV tuners have been quite flaky since upgrading to Windows 10.

@TelevisionAU it would not have been a cover up as Ten is mastering the promos for Win, and the end tag was clean with no Ten logos.

It’s a simple layer on / layer off to turn the ten bug off and the win one on (the circle logo)

I think we might see use of a dual logo for a while (like 9NBN) while they transition to use of Ten circle logo look eventually
